It's not just that, when he scoring goals the sun shines out of his arse. he will come good again, be it with us or elsewhere.

Couldn't agree more .... We have had a 2 game winning run and all is rosey in the garden... Hmmmm Dismissing players not in the current team is not warrented by the fact that many (including myself) would not have given Grant , Sedgemore or even Tolley & Edwards another chance following the Mansfield game. But Peters has proved he can motivate players to perform to the best of their ability and one thing certain Luke Rodgers at the best of his form will frighten defences way above League 2 standards..... Luke i'm sure is desparate to return to 1st team selection (if only to put himself in the shop window). Just hope his rest from the team has increased his appetite.

why should Luke get back in the team, there is a winning formula that does not include him, in any case he goes free in the summer.

why should Luke get back in the team. Because he's the best player at the club.

I'e got every confidence in GP doing the right thing to get Luke firing on all cylinders, and if that means a spell on the bench than so be it.

The lad is a class act. Nuff said.
First off Rodgers wont be going on a free transfer unless we release him. If we offer him another contract, yet he signs for another club we will get a fee (tribunal decided) for him.
Would we begrudge him this?
We should not, he has scored goals for us, stuck with us through thick and thin (when he could have forced his way out).
Besides the club knew what they were doing when they sent Crewe and Darby (?) packing.....

A lifetime one too Rodgers will not go free at the end of the season either as he is under 23 years of age. Trouble with these supporters that follow pub teams they get use to the high turnover in players at their clubs and think its normal that if another club offers a player £5 more he is off. Gary Peters said a while ago Luke needed a rest, he will be back. Sooner than you think.

The guy needs a new challenge, I think thats apparent to all!
Only he can decide whether that challenge is set by GP or another club!
Personally, I think he needs to play at a higher level, maybe he will with you guys next season?

Sooner than you think. why is that because i dont suck up to the luke rodgers lot it is assumed i am not STFC>? because i would rather see a winning Formula one at the moment does not include Rodgers i am chastised, give me a "WINNING TEAM" that does not include him anyday,, however should he find his scoring boots and be part of a winning team all well and good, i'll be impressed.but come on he has hardly been a great striker over the last 18 months or so. has he asked to renew contract talks? or has the club? or is he just bidding his time knowing he wil in all likely hood play elsewhere at a higher level

GP said every player has a fresh start from his arrival
Grant has done well, Langmead has done well
Rodgers has not yet
No-one has to tell Shrewsbury fans how good Luke Rodgers as a player
But then few Shrewsbury fans can say the Rodegrs we have seen this season is any more than a pale reflection of his former glory
Rodger on form is the best striker in this division, but he is far from that at present
And as for the clique thing, ah well, it is a cheap shot, it obdviously shows you've got nothing better to say

well Jamo, its typical of someone of your limited IQ to give such a response, think i'll do what i have done over the last 2 yrs and trawl the rivals sites where the real football talk is done, because there is very little on here and as stated pitty the fool who has a different view of that of the as you say the "Clique " at least i dont follow the rest...

Not Impressed, i think you would gain some respect if you registered. Anyone who spouts negative comments which are so obviously intentioned to get peoples backs up and hides as guest is bound to get the response you do.

there is nothing stopping you from registering though is there, or maybe you don;t have the bottle to let people know who you are?
people on here may be wrong, but at least you know who they are
it is easy to slate other people when you remain anonymous, and that is going to get a bad reaction

"Not Impressed" Top Man You speak more sense than most of The Clique put together. They're so far up their own arses they can't even see what they are.

I'm not part of a clique and couldn't give a stuff if my opinion differs from the majority view. Based on current performances GP has got the front two pairing correct. Luke is out of form and hopefully a spell on the sidelines will enable him to reach the form we know he is all capable of. One thing is for certain though, if Langmead and Granty keep up their recent performances then Luke will have to work very very hard to get a look in.

all i said is i want a winning forumula, something we NOW have without Rodgers, i get abuse from a moderator and someone else who tells me to f**k off, why because my opinions are different, they would stay the same even if i registered and i would expect the abuse to remain the same, it seems the Blue and Amber is no longer the welcoming place it was say 2/3 years ago. so i;ll stay unregistered and give my 2 pence worth as and when. You got abuse from me and Jamo, name the names. Complian to a manager of this board if you do not like Jamos or my attitude towards you and ask for me to be removed as moderator, it seems to bug you. You are very selective, still waiting for a reply from you on this thread. blueandamber.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1104600874But then we know nothing about football on here. I stand up and say what I think. You should stop all these personal insults towards people if you do not want it back. Hey watch out for a McNally Out if Tinpot lose this afternoon. See if you can spot it and what name I use. That seems to bug you also. Is it any worse that guests slagging off on here? As for a clique, that is total tosh. Why not come out on WNBs or 5 a side on Thursday night, all part of the B&A activities this week Why not have a go at fans v pros in the programme or write an article for the fanzine. Nah that we mean getting involved, as you seem impressed with Ant and his posting or lack of it, read his byline. So many are moaners, so few are doers Wonder who that is aimed at?

Yes he has had his day, before the match all of the Darlington fans were chomping on because there was a danger Luke Rodgers was going to start, luckily he didnt but he strikes fear into the fans but isnt really that good.
