great interview on Radio Shropshire, he literally called the players soft and they make his skin crawl and warned them to look out if hes here next season
lets hope he is
first time ive listened for months and rather confused, I was led to believe Radio Shropshire was on the STFC payroll , and was called radio roland amongst other childish names, turns out like most things its just pathetic nonsense , Radio Shropshire are giving the club a right hammering

He has the best head coach job in football, no blame can be attached to him, whatever happens it's got to be better than this. Team so useless whatever he does he can't get a tune out if them, but few tweaks and they might be fit for league 2.

Saying of the year for me. There’s a softness that makes my skin crawl. Give him the job asap.

That last question actually made me excited for next season. It must be hard managing a bunch of players that don't see you as there long term gaffer. Get it sorted this week.

The way Southall in particularly nauseatingly sucks up to Appleton a man who who failed in 6 of his 8 jobs , has shown absolutely nothing in this one when it was a basically a free shot. We have actually got worse under him. How naive to install a completely alien playing style with 9 games to go. A good coach would have been far more pragmatic. He doesn’t deserve the job at all

I’ve now decided if Appleton gets the job I’m renewing my season ticket for next season. Let’s do this, who’s with me.

He mentioned in one interview that bigger clubs will be willing to loan out their players if clubs play in a certain way. Interestingly, Ainsworth dd not want to go down the loan route, maybe if he had we may have stayed up, who knows. But I for one want Appleton to take over and I think any negative comments are not helpful. Who do you think we are likely to get who would be any better? Appleton has done good jobs at both Oxford and Lincoln, so what if he was no good at other clubs. I have had loads of jobs in my career, some work out, lots do not. Appleton is a trier and that gives him my thumbs up.

Ps like myself, Appleton has had testicular cancer and has come out the other side of it. Trust me when I say I have full respect for the guy after my experience, I would not wish it on a Wrexham fan or worse enemy. He is a fighter and I really hope he gets the job.

I see your point but I was actually on about 2 different things but didnt make it clear 1, was just Appletons dig at the squad and the the other was about the texts and calls from listeners, but you are right re Appleton , he was just in listening mode there but I guess he got out of him what we needed to know

I do have sympathy with Appleton who has come into a very difficult situation with a squad short on quality and demoralised and on their third manager of the season. The problem is that, because of this, it is very difficult to gauge what improvement, if any, he has made. We can clearly see the style of play (with more passing and bravery on the ball) that he wants and that could work in League 2. However, even though he has not had many games, we have not really even been close to a win under his management. I thought his system today was wrong - we have seen many times under two other managers that Benning and Hoole are wingbacks and not full-backs. If he thought Stewart deserved a start surely he should have benched Lloyd who has run himself completely into the ground this season and needs a break. I would also be a little concerned about a manager trashing his players in public like that - in my experience of managing staff (admittedly not a football team) you do not get the best out of people by insulting them. As always it will be an interesting summer but I will support the manager next season whoever he is.

It was crazy to ask these players to start playing out from the back. He’s an out of work manager who had a free shot for 9 games and so far has failed the audition

Tony Mowbray now available....but no, let's see what MA can do. When they are his team we can judge.

Not sure we got worse either, we were equally crap in the last 5 games of GA's reign. Not saying he is the messiah but what better league 2 manager could we go for that isn't currently in work?
