Make our coach the manager. Give him full control of players signed up and team selection.

Make our coach the manager. Give him full control of players signed up and team selection. What makes you think he does not have control of the players signed and team selection? Every single interview with Moore and Hurst suggest that is not the case.

Hurst should stay. New owners to make the decision on him. Not Roland.

For me Hurst is a liability that’s stealing a living at the moment - get gone while there is vague hope for improvement

Make our coach the manager. Give him full control of players signed up and team selection. This is boring and not true. MM doesn’t tell him what to do - yes it’s Hurst who is stupid enough to set us up like that at HOME today. A flat back 5 with 3 HOLDING midfielders and a winger up top.

Make our coach the manager. Give him full control of players signed up and team selection. Good idea, he can then sign more players like Pierre, Nsiala and Gilliead.

I’m so enthused as what Pilch things of this. ok I'll take your bait since 2018, our chairman and the majority of our fans have wanted one thing, hurst back after cotterill stitched us up and left, our chairman did enquire about hurst but grimsby priced us out of any sort of negotiations leaving us with the best option of using a DOF Micky Moore fit that bill and Matty Taylor was chosen as head coach by xmas Hurst had been relieved of his duties and Taylor was being targeted by town fans, calls for hurst to come back were still regular from fans my guess is the chairman put the whole DOF on hold and gave hurst the full reigns, of course this means Micky Moore is having an easy ride but hardly his doing, and if hes under contract no point paying him off at this moment in time I suspect the chairman has taken MM to one side and said you better get warmed up, you may be coming on

I’d like to point out that an injection of cash/new ownership does not guarantee success - Burton anyone?

I’dike to point out that an injection of cash/new ownership does not guarantee success - Burton anyone? Burton are a case study in what not to do when you get a bit of money. Churn your entire playing squad, sign 20+ players in one go and then bring in a coach with hardly any league experience. What could possibly go wrong? There's so much to be said for stability and incremental improvement.

We did incrementally improve when we added Leahy, Bayliss, Shipley, Dunkley and Marosi to a struggling squad. But we couldn't afford it. In fact it put us back five years. That's why we need investment. We can't afford to compete at this level.

So it's basically our own fault that our chairman tried to please his clubs fans. How ungrateful are we

I can't remember any other polls but that one was a bit biased. Big difference between fans giving him a chance and getting behind him and them wanting him back in the first place.

So it's basically our own fault that our chairman tried to please his clubs fans. How ungrateful are we I always get the feeling from the rumors and gossip from those "in the know" that he holds a lot of our supporters in contempt. I imagine him looking down at many and rolling his eyes. As I said though, that's just how it comes across to me.

In today's Star, Hurst says there's no agenda, he picks the team that have the best chance of winning. Seems to have missed out that he thinks have the best chance of winning. I say it's time to take a chance with our loanees, bearing in mind his team's are not actually winning anything.
