Draw this evening Who would you want? Non league away trip, Birmingham City/Wreham away or an easy home banker? Hednesford, Solihull, Tamworth or Gav Cowan’s Brackley away? I’d like to avoid league 1 or 2 teams especially away. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cpv2p9211ydo

Whilst it would be nice to get through and have a but of a cup run whenever we have a poor team with not much confidence like now I'm happier to get a very boring tie against a L1 or L2 side. Then should we go down we can slip out quietly rather than have a cup upset losing to a non league side.
Whoever we get remember we are at the top level of the clubs currently playing so there really aren't very many glamour ties to draw till we get into Rd3.

Grizzly taking as long as 10 minutes to hit reply on his annual "would like us to quietly get knocked out so we can concentrate on the gruel of finishing 20th" post shows standards are well and truly slipping.
Any of Peterborough Sports, Harborough Town, Scarborough, Wealdstone, Guiseley or Tonbridge Angels away as preferences, or at home for a more boring but more winnable tie.

Partially agree with you in as much with our team struggling it may be less harmful to go out to a fellow L1 side. But another part of me says, " hey we are Shrewsbury Town a club with a renowned FA Cup history both in the recent and long term past. We shouldn't fear anyone "😁

we need 500k in our bank account asap - so a couple of easy ties and then a big one away to Man Utd or Newcastle to cash in and help pay the bills

Forest Green at home would be interesting.
As would Wealdstone.

I’d take anything other than a League One club.

Anywhere we can get to easily, with decent food and not in the rain, and win.
Altrincham anyone?

I would like to visit a low placed non league club Harborough, Curzon Ashton, Rushall Olympic, Weston Super Mare or even Worthing as I have relatives in Haywards Heath so can stop over.....
Ideally we need to get to round 3 and draw a big club this season for financial reasons as already mentioned.

Remember, no replays this season. Presumably still extra time before pens?

Nice to see my local club (Harborough Town aka The Bees) get a couple of mentions on this thread. There is much excitement in the town as this is their first ever appearance in the FA Cup first round. After a few successive promotions they now play in the same league as Telford but sadly I am away on holiday when Telford play there this season.

A lower non-league club at home. The best draw will see us through to the next round - & then onto the third round because I'd love to see our excellent recent Cup record extended.
If we can do that then we just want a big payday.

I'd like Tamworth away, a chance to put to bed that frustrating day back in 2003

Oh no- have been living on hope for a while now, think I may have used that up, I seem to remember they were physical in a way we were not that day

I'm quite happy about that, another ground to tick off the list where I haven't been and winnable too
