After reportedly being sought after by several different league 1 sides I noticed yesterday at MM is still without a club. Clearly he has the quality to be a league 1 keeper but I am guessing that he will be struggling to find a club who would be willing to meet his wage demands after he had such a lucrative contract with Salop! I can't imagine there will be many clubs who have not sorted there goal keeping situation out by now.
He might have to drop down and lower his demands if he wants 1st team football this season. Could we see him back at Salop?

Have him back? No, we have moved on, a couple of months ago an acceptance of our reduced offer could have got him the job.

Looks like he's overpriced himself. He needs to have a word with his agent smartish.

We’ve repeatedly been told we have the same budget as last season - absolute rubbish

Same budget, but last year it was overspent - reportedly.

Hi circumstances are down to Roland cost cutting club had 3rd year option but reduced salary otherwise would have stayed. jeez every thread you try and turn into RW bashing even if it means investing a story firstly £5k a week is unsustainable for a keeper for us. ( or any player or member of staff for that matter ) secondly he's not worth anywhere near £5k and more importantly , the b******s about your 3rd year option on a reduced salary made me laugh if you care to check up, the guy was signed for 3 years, and stayed for 3 years , do the maths 2024-2021=3 www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2021/june/marko-maroi-joins-the-salop-family/the guy we had in goal yesterday at one point gathered the ball and instead of holding onto it for 40 seconds and then launching it into the stand, produced an amazing kick right to the feet of bloxham which put him clear through down the line, and a run that should have resulted in much better than it did

If he was on £5k a week last season, that’s £260k a year, Marosi was great and kept us up last season so more than paid back £260k that otherwise relegation to League 2 would’ve cost us

Anyway Savin played well yesterday and if Man Utd were interested in him as 3rd keeper he must have some about him.

Regards RW more and more are realising and seeing it is time Roland moved on, question is whether the circle of life will beat him to it and leave the club in a bigger mess.

I’ll call out when people are making things up about what I’ve said/not said. I stated a fact that we would lose more than £260k by getting relegated to League 2 - let’s be honest we will find out before long I still don’t believe that utter nonsense by the way, he’d be in court were that the case rather than masterminding a superb away win yesterday. And anybody having the wool pulled over their eyes that easily should not be leading our great club

We’ve repeatedly been told we have the same budget as last season - absolute rubbish Whatever the budget is, we were paying last season's goalkeeper too much. Was it Hurst or Moore that said the other week that the players are fairly even on each player's wages now?

Marosi at his best is Championship level. I'm surprised he hasn't found work, guess it would be his high wage demands

I'm surprised he hasn't found work, guess it would be his high wage demands His ball skills and distribution are not even league one standard , my guess is he the only offers he's had are probably lower than whatever we offered him and he's to stubborn to admit that's all he's worth , his only hope now is some side has a keeper crisis and he gets a lucky deal

I get why Roland is hanging on, the FC is his life, I don’t think it’s about his personal wealth either, he can’t let go and I we understand that is difficult for him. No one is wishing a bad event on him, it’s just that by resisting selling the club at every opportunity is clearly not in the interests of the club. If Roland had more respect for the fan base he would communicate the situation and we would have a better understanding.

I have thought about this scenario as well, strange that Marosi has been signed up but as Pilch says he was on huge wages last season and likely wants an enhancement.
Still if he's not getting paid now and Savin goes down with an injury - its perhaps natural to assume the unamusable.
He'd have a worse defence in front of him.
