Ok, got to get this off my chest, bugging me.
I appreciate this may be divisive but…..
I just don’t rate him. There it is, I’m sorry but he’s not good enough for L1 in my very humble opinion.
I hear the south stand singing his song about ‘putting on a show’ and I’m like, have that lot had a knock on the head.
Heck! I may be alone in my opinion but seeing the quality we have now in his role exposes it further.

Guess he is going to be the new Fall Guy, the one fans love to blame for everything wrong with the club. (Is the pigeon s**t all down to him?)
Weve always had one over recent years, just that last year we had half a team of them.
Give him a few weeks of the season with Hurst in charge to see if he improves eh? If he doesnt improve expect him to go out on loan in January.
But the size of the squad would suggest we may have to use him when we get a few injuries.

He will be wearing blue and amber and that’s good enough for me. He will get my support whatever.

When the season starts he will be a new player with a new job in a new team....his role will be clearly defined by Hurst and Doig.
Give the lad a chance ffs.

I believe the players read b&a, so this is a nice boost for Taylor's confindence just as the season is starting. New manager, new fitness regime, maybe even a slightly different role being required on the field, so who knows?
Nice kick in the guts for Taylor just before the season starts.

I’ll leave it up to the coach and his team to decide who’s the best players for the match day squad, not fans who only see part of the picture.
If chosen he’ll be the best available on the day 👍

I’m all for ‘give Hurst time with him’ but Hurst has hardly played him at all in pre season, so I would suggest his opinion is much like the opening post.

He won't be in starting 11 satday....hardly featured under Hurst last season...but things change quickly...as I say, it's up to him🤷🤷

If Hurst rated Perry he'd have had much more game time in preseason and would have had minutes over trialists.
We should thank him for some of his goals last season which probably helped us get over the line when we look at the points accrued but I think he's not up to the standard of this league.
Wouldn't surprise me to see him be loaned to League 2 in the next couple of weeks for the season where I'd expect him to do well.

I'm sure he would be better utilised as a out and out forward if he worked on his finishing

Do agree he’s not good enough for league 1 currently.
He’s not a CDM and he’s not good enough to play AM?

I’m not one for kicking players but I pay my money to watch the team so I deserve an opinion like you sir. I’m sure the predictions of 23rd finish will galvanise the team so maybe if he reads my post it will do that for him too.

I clearly remember some of our support laughing at Junior Brown when he first arrived.

Not sure why there is a need to single out one of our players when the season hasn't even started.
By the looks of it Taylor Perry is not going to be a first team starter but it's a squad game and when his time comes I'm sure he will give 100%.

Of course you are entitled to an opinion, owd lad, I just thought the timing was ill-judged. A month ago, I could have understood, but just prior to our fust game rather surprised me.

I clearly remember some of our support laughing at Junior Brown when he first arrived. I think you're about the same age as me, wookey, mid forties, so you will remember a midfielder called Mark Taylor. I still remember some supporters cheering when he got injured and saying things like, "thank heavens for that", or similer words. When he came back from injury, I believe he starred in the Fred Davies' promotion winning side.

What an unpleasant thread before the season has even started aimed at a young player who may or may not be a first team regular this term. In a poor team last year always gave 100% and certainly wasn't our worst player IMO.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course and I agree you pay your money so are entitled to voice it. I'd just hope most at least wait until a few games in, with a new squad before knocking a young lad. He wears Blue and Amber, so gets my full support.

Quite a classy player was Mark - also scored our first-ever goal at Wembley (think he was our captain there as well).

I'm in the happy position of trusting Hurst's opinion on his players. I see no reason to single out any player before the league has even kicked off. Plenty of time for opinions after we've actually seen some football.

I think Taylor started off last season quite well and had a few decent shots from range. Perhaps he had, as a young player, to play too much in a struggling midfield and his misses in the Wrexham cup game certainly seemed to dent his confidence in front of goal. No doubt he will get his chance to play at some stage of the season and we have seen young players improve and establish themselves in the first team many times before.

I agree he isn’t good enough. Hasn’t got the spark, runs more often than not like a headless chicken, easily knocked off the ball. He has had long enough prove us wrong.

I think two incidents that turned a lot of fans off Perry, were the late misses against Wrexham, and giving away a clumsy penalty late on at home against Barnsley (I think).
It’s a long season and we have a small squad, he’ll be required at some point. Every player gets a fresh slate this season.

Is it any different to singling out member of staff , the chairman , director or football ,the manager or coaches , even fans, you name it we do it on here , same rules always apply that is anyone is personally offended by such a post and they get in touch they will be removed , and we try to do this automatically if it involves a b&a member , we do have a disclaimer on the forum especially for players etc harsh but that's the nature of the game I guess

The players don’t have a chance to answer back.
The chairman is where the buck stops and there is nothing to stop him making a statement to answer his critics. The fact that he doesn’t and says nothing to allay worries either real or imagined just fuels the fire.
I’m not a PH fan as everyone knows but I do think he will do his best for his players and bring out the best in them.

I think we should always be allowed to criticise players, whether they’re past, present, or opposition players. But it is a bit of a random time to start this thread, especially given he’s likely a squad player at best this season and has had a very quiet pre-season.

Certainly one in Moores " development" bracket. Played loads last season as we had a dearth of other options, which it now looks like we have. Chance for him to knuckle down off field and take the opportunities he does get.
