Injury prone? Check Poor scoring record? Check Tall striker? Check.
He’s a salop striker in every sense of the word. Welcome on board.

What more can you tell us about him? I think he’ll be a decent addition speaking to my Rotherham supporting cousin. Apparently he’s a player who’s had a stop start career, every time he’s started to get going an injury has sidelined him for a while and fitness is a major red flag. When he’s been fit he can hold the ball up, has a bit of pace and his first touch is pretty solid. Very much a link up player. Joking aside, I do think he’ll be a solid addition if he’s fit.

He’s highly rated , just injuries have impacted his development.
Only last summer Rotherham had Barnsley & Carlisle bidding over £100k for him, but he rejected both clubs and went on loan instead.
He sounds on paper the sort of tall, powerful option Hurst likes having in his ranks, I’m happier with this move once I did some research online than I was initially

I would imagine he's pretty cheap with a few incentives in his contract , good luck to him, I'd almost given up hope on a signing this week

Think we’ve seen him starting up top due to lack of options more than anything

Sort of signing I expected. Not that successful elsewhere but obviously has something about him. Tall, capable of playing a few positions, hopefully keen to impress. Won't be a starter every week probably but decent enough option hopefully. Still a few weeks and some friendlies to go, but the squad doesn't seem too far away

Still gives me the shudders.

I dread to think how much he earned from us he played a total of 5.33 league games for us if he was on £4k a week , that works out at almost £80,000 per game he did have 2 shots on target in 2 seasons (one of them was a 1 on 1 which he hit straight at the keeper ) what genius signed him ?

Let’s judge fitness and injury issues after 10 games or so. It only took that long to expose some of Cotterill’s signings. We have no idea what early August levels will be like. I’m sure we want everyone firing on all cylinders in the true Hurst/Doig fashion. Competition and flexibility in the squad is the key, whatever their recent history.
Good luck Josh and welcome to Salop.

just for you I'll hijack the thread and even change sport, what do you think of the horse trainer Aidan Obrien ? O/T I don't have an opinion of the guy, but as a non expert on betting I would simply bet on every horse he puts out in the big races. Would I be in profit? He certainly knows how to whip those horses into shape, although perhaps that's not a good choice of words.

I'm starting to think we are starting to look more balanced this time round and therefore stronger, and with a couple more additions expected too. i like the look of the new additions compared to the players that have left.

Thank for the info. Sounds like the type of player that Hurst can improve and Skitty and his team can work on to keep him fit.

Good option off the bench against tired legs. Let's not forget that Hurst got some good performances out of Stephan Payne and he wasn't blessed with loads of talent.

But why would a fellow League 1 Club want to enter into a season long loan with us for their player?

Really excited by this one. A lot of the very basic comments above appear to focus on his attributes, but I’m hearing that the boy’s intangibles are off the scale. Literally, off the scale.
