Before the recent election a woman wrote in the comments below an item on our local online news site that if Labour won in Altrincham she would emigrate to Dubai.
I hope she's enjoying it.

Nothing about Dubai appeals to me. There are so many places I want to visit but Dubai will never be one of them.

A few years back a British tourist reported been raped by two men, to then find herself been arrested for having sex outside of marriage.
The punishment for this crime ranges from a prison sentence, flogging to be stoned to death.

A Norweigian women was sentenced to 16 months in prison after reporting a rape , the sentence was only commuted after Norweigian fiplomats intervined and the ruler pardoned her.

Dubai are seen as safe destinations for British tourist ,Dubai has spent a lot of money selling itself as a holiday destination.
Well they are not safe!!!!
These are not isolated cases.
The foreign office has changed its guidance after 42 cases of sexual assaults have occured so far this year in Turkey.

One of the incidents in Turkey involved 6 police officers. Unfortunately there are nasty/bad people in all country's, the Cambridgerape center has some horrific stats on how bad things are in the uk, in 2022 the uk recorded the highest nunbe rapes since records were kept bear in mind That 5 in 6 women who are raped won't report it to the police. 1 in 4 women have been subjected to sexual violence by the age of 16. In 2022 798,000 women were sexually assaulted or raped.so the UK is far from safe if you are a women. |
