Some interesting comments there (particularly on Udoh and Mata) and MM can certainly talk the talk but we will need to see a massive improvement in the quality of loan players brought in compared to last season's batch if they are to have a positive impact in the new season.

Very safe and cant really say anything different or any more on incoming potential prospects.
A nothing sort of statement, a bit like a Shropshire Star articke that says nothing you dont already know.
Nice to actually have contact from within the club even so.

Loans were of decent quality last season, they were just injured. I think we would have had a much better season if they would have stayed fit.

As always great to have communication from the club.
This is the summer to judge MM and I predict he will do well now he has got the high earners out.

Fair letter by Moore, although whilst these letters are welcome theyβre basically nothing more than a PR exercise. They will never reveal the main stuff we want to know such as names, figures, gossip and rightly so.
Main points from the letter: - Nice comments about Udoh, far better than yesterdays nonsense. - Every player weβve signed so far is a great coup - Weβre trying to bring more in (statement of the obvious)

As others have said, nothing particularly groundbreaking in there, not a criticism of him or the club, that's just the general nature of these sort of articles. If nothing else, it shows us he is still about
Agree with it being nice to see him showing more respect to Udoh and all players who have left, a nice touch.
Interesting that the article starts with saying communicating with fans is vital, perhaps the club are slowly learning.

The two who played the most games of the loans were the ones Hurst immediately jettisoned out of the squad. The other he packed off back to Hull preferring to go half the season with one recognised left back. Hardly a marker for their " decent quality".

Interesting that the article starts with saying communicating with fans is vital, perhaps the club are slowly learning. Its a good indepth article and like you its nice to get a bit of extra into on the players leaving and hints at the type of offer they were given. Uses the term " development player" a few times which fits in with his original remit when he came to the club that he wanted to find younger players we could develop and sell on. A bit more detail on how we plan to "bridge the gap" in their experience of youth football and league one level would be useful to hear about Does seem clear that Paul Hurst is having much more involvement in the signings than Taylor was from the article, which I think is a good thing and would suggest an element of trust between coach and director of football around recruitment. Is a little worrying that we seem reliant on the loan market as while we can always uncover a few gems, its a risky strategy with a pretty small squad as it stands, and kind of goes against the idea of getting home grown players in the team.

Fleming seemed OK but the wingback from Luton and the centreforward we signed on loan were already injured when they arrived. Kenneh was probably not as bad as some people made out but was nowhere near the quality of Phillips the season before while the lad from Brighton (a Hurst signing) was woeful. We need to do much better than that this season.

He did say βputting together a competitive squadβ so can be held responsible if itβs not βcompetitiveβ in my view. This is in fairness what weβve been asking for and maybe itβs had to be delayed while we waited on the Udoh decision.

I think the article sums up what most clubs in the lower reaches of League 1 are aiming to do. Firstly develop young players in the hope they make it to the first team and possibly sell on for a good fee. In our current situation whilst supporters may not like it , this is a position which will see the club achieve financial stability . Hopefully the knock on effect will enable the club to buy better quality players for the future. As for loan players , well , there is always the hope that we find one or two really good League 1 players who will do a fine job for us as they continue their journey up the football pyramid . Iβm confident that Hurst and Doig along with his coaching team will provide a strong competitive side this coming season . We will certainly be fitter . Remember we are historically a third tier club . We have never had the financial clout or fan base to see us confidently survive in a higher league but we may , from time to time flirt with promotion . Yes, I would love us to buck the trend but in reality we are what we are and nothing will change unless we have someone/ group with loads of money buy us promotion . The good thing is that we will survive as a football league club and in this current climate thatβs something to be applauded .

"town fans excitedly prepare case to moan in anticipation of first defeat' Thereβs not a lot of good news so clasping at straws π in recent seasons around this time of the we've usually signed 1 overpaid punt, a previously released has been and thats it , announced 2 away friendlies against unibond league 4 south b sides, finding out the new kit arrives in October as the ship its on has sunk, and the moaners are told to stfu until the end of October before judging

In my opinion that is the best open letter that Micky Moore has ever written, well done Micky.

I want to hear from the manager and not a puppet! Maybe, just maybe, they work as a team so both would say roughly the same thing? In fact if it were a puppet to use your theme, does that not mean that you are reading the puppetmaster's words anyway? But an update from the Head Coach would be nice too I guess in a few weeks time

So it's personal problems with Max Mata.
I guess in a way that's a good thing (not for him personally obviously), but means it's not just football related.

Get Benno back for one more season as right side cover he never gives less than 100% and is a great motivator of the younger players.

As always great to have communication from the club. This is the summer to judge MM and I predict he will do well now he has got the high earners out. Hurst will have the last say on anyone coming in regardless, totally different to 12 months ago where Matty Taylor was a mere puppet with Moore pulling the strings. Not a cats in hells chance Hursty will have that, but if its a case of Moore negionating deals etc while PH concentrates on the coaching side of things i dont see that as a bad thing . Directors of Football are at the majority of clubs now , so they must play a important role why would teams have them otherwise . The DOF role is here to stay as clearly stated by Mr Dooley in his end of season interview.

I want to hear from the manager and not a puppet! Bit harsh that, I'm sure they are working closely together. I hope so anyhow!! And no idea whether Hurst likes dealing with such things but I guess one of the advantages of having a DOF in place is that he doesn't need to...π

Think hursty needs all the time he has on the training pitch ATM.....with all the players he has available.....hopefully 3/4 more in asap, and it will look a lot better.....the loans may take a bit longer, but they'll be training with there respective clubs anyway
