We are talking to him I've heard from a fairly reliable source. 16 goals last season I think. Guess now Crewe are staying at level 4.

He's been offered a new deal by his club.

He's been offered a new deal by his club. But it's a level below where he could be playing. Are even the likes of Crewe above our budget these days?

According to Wiki he scored a hat-trick at Wembley in the 2021 Vase final for Warrington Rylands - sign him up quick! He could be the new Ryan Bowman!

No goals at all in 2022/23. Yes I noticed that as well. Was he played in a different position I wonder Doesnt look like he played in another position much. Although he did score in 2022/23 season though, just not for Crewe. He signed for them in January, from Tranmere who he'd scored 4 goals for (2 of them against Crewe and also another one in the cup too). Didn't move into professional football until he was nearly 25.

27, poor scoring record - why are we looking at him when our philosophy is getting young players to build and sell on ?

Just no experience up front assuming Udoh goes. Will need someone with a bit of experience to go with the youngsters. I'm guessing if we go for this bloke it wont break the bank.

27, poor scoring record - why are we looking at him when our philosophy is getting young players to build and sell on ? Alfie May was 27 with a poor goalscoring record in the football league when Moore signed him for Cheltenham, that didn't turn out too badly in terms of goals and making money for the club. Similarly Paul Mullin was 26 when he signed for Cambridge from Tranmere after being a lower league journeyman of a striker. Of course it's a longshot that he turns out to be as successful as them but that's what we see hoping for. Signing players who we hope to make money for us doesn't necessarily have to be an 18 year old out of an academy.

Still think we'll go for Nathan Fraser at wolves With him having some involvement in the first team at Wolves this season (mainly as they had no one else) I would be surprised if Wolves were happy to see him going to a club in the third division, and one that is likely to struggle. I'd expect they will want a higher standard for him more clubs will be willing to take a gamble on a player who had a few appearances in the Premier League this season.

[br I think it's fairly clear no signings are going to come even close to breaking the bank. But Nevitt won't be really cheap, 16 goals in league two. I think if he signed he'd be the marquee forward signing and expected to be a starter. Similar to when town signed Bowman. First season he was very much a first team player

I get that but some context to his involvement is needed which was born out of necessity. Wolves had unsuccessfully tried to sign a forward in the window due to several forward line injuries. That meant Fraser had a meteoric rise to the first team. Had only a handful of injuries happened and them signing a forward in Jan, Fraser would have been nowhere near the first team. I suspect that will be the case come August. If he came to L1 in an average side and scored goals that will tell Wolves a lot more than going to Blues, etc.

But now he's been around the first team, I'd be amazed if other clubs weren't aware of his availability and given the choice of him playing against Championship players/for a top end L1 side or a struggling side in L1 who don't create and score a lot, well I suspect Wolves and the player will choose the former. Let's hope I'm wrong

He was poor for wolves when I watched him,and the backroom staff at wolves said, he needs to go out on loan next season for his development
