If they get relegated that has got to be one of the worst drops in a league season from being in the Play Offs (5th or 6th) to being in the relegation zone with only 5 games left?

Their remaining fixtures and my predictions; Cardiff @ Home, Loss, outside chance of making Play Offs Coventry @ Home, Loss, chasing Norwich for last Play Off spot Rotherham Away, Win, Millers already down Huddesfield Away, Loss, one point currently keeping Huddesfield out of relegation zone Norwich @ Home, Loss, chasing the Play Offs

Is it really 1995 since we last played them in the league? Just having a look at the head to head, seems so. Just about recall, I think, Mickey Thomas scoring a goal there way back when that kept us up. That was in the white Wem Ales kit I think. I think it was right in front of us but we weren't sure whether it had gone in, maybe off the crossbar. But I'm sure it us a while to realize it had gone in and we could start celebrating.

I suspect they'll escape, they usually do. I hope they don't though. Nothing particular against the Blues, I just like to see new teams in our league (and I'm sure it will still be our league). The entirely predictable relegation of Rotherham is just a bore for next season.
Exciting relegation scrap developing there - any two from Swansea in 15th downwards still at risk.

Rooney the hero The real hero is whoever the decision to sack the manager who got them into a playoff spot.😳 Didn't they do something similar with Gary Rowett? The fact that he's back there now shows what an efficiently run club it must be.

Suppose they are vying with Swansea for worst drop in league fortunes?
I used to think Birmingham City would be the sort of upward stepping stone Udoh might take but now they are not so good and currently neither is he.

While it was clearly a poor and unjust decision to sack eustace the whole narrative that he had got them into the play offs is overblown. The game before that they were 12th. In fact 8 points separated 5th and 23rd! It was early in the season before it had settled down so it’s a fairly meaningless measure

The first time I went to St Andrews they beat us 1-0 with Nigel Gleghorn getting the goal. I think that promoted them, and the place went bonkers. I seem to remember a sketchy walk back to the coaches after the game. From memory they were parked in either an industrial estate or scrapyard.
With regards to relegation, a few years back, Millwall were top at Christmas and still got relegated.

Mickey Thomas’ only goal for us, I think. Unlike a lot of people, I wasn’t a fan. About 5,000 there on Easter Monday, and both teams went down. It would be nice to go back there.

Didn't win manage to stay up though with a win (or maybe a draw) there the one season? Sure we did and so maybe getting my games mixed up.

Would be superb for the attendances next season if they came down.
Two guaranteed home sell-outs of Wrexham and Birmingham, two big away followings as well I'm sure.

If Birmingham come to the meadow, we'll need to re-build the away end afterwards!

Last game of the season and we won 2-0 with goals from Hackett and Robinson. Win us above Birmingham, who at one point during the game were in the bottom 3, but Sunderland eventually went down, and us and Birmingham survived.

We should get a full house if they are relegated Even on the roof maybe like they did at the Meadow, Colin Griffin winking at the Riverside after leaving Keith Bertschin with rather a large gash on his thigh March 8th 1980 won 1-0

Got them out onto the pitch then moved them to the Station end taking them all past the Riverside faithful. Brilliant move, er not!

14,800 at Gay Meadow that day, Blues fans on the Station End roof and sat within a few inches of the pitch too.

Had I not been able to go on my own I might never have become a Town fan, my mates were the usual Leeds/Manchester Utd types.

Cheeeeeeeeelseeee at Half Time in the Riverside was fairly eye opening 👍👍 As was Preston at Easter 79/80. Preston on a Tuesday night, my old chap used to wear his old Fireman's Cap from when he was in the service, one of said miscreants from "oop north" knocked it off resulting in my old chap and three other "Gentleman" from BC giving out a bit of Shropshire hospitality to the uninvited guests resulting in the "fans" begging the Police and stewards to open the gate on the Riverside and let them out and to their rightful spot in the Station End.
