Really? How do you do that ? It hasn’t worked for me. Do I need to adjust my settings or something similar? I don't think mods can be blocked. Is that correct ? If so, why is that, are there practical and/or administrative reasons for that?

I know a few on here. I also know others by sight, but haven't introduced myself. it's funny how most posters look differently to how you expect them to look!
i.e., lots of people have commented on how small my nose is..........

A single post per 'player' per thread rule would both increase the number and range of contributors and also at a stroke negate most of the worst aspects of this esteemed log.
A few of the regulars may need therapy and or gaffer tape applied - but then this board in many ways reflects a typical meadow crowd , where many of the same issues occur.

I think anyone that uses the clown emoji should be given an instant 7 day ban. How is that conducive to debate?

I think transparency would be key for me. I’ve seen threads deleted for dubious reasons or posts removed with little to no reason given. I used to love putting polls up to spark some debate but I think those days are done because I’m never sure the level of controversy allowed on the message board without either personally feeling attacked with interference on posts to ridicule or if those threads or posts will stay overnight. I liked being playful and deliberately provocative because I found those threads the most interesting and garnered the most interaction across the diverse range of opinions.
The former poster thread disappeared most recently and there’s never an explanation given. It feels like if you touch the wrong nerve then it’ll disappear. I just want transparency and clarity, allowing even more controversial threads to exist with the fan base to develop. If you don’t want engage with them then feel free.

the one thing I'm hoping to change in the near future is as this link explains en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominembecause I am sick and tired of posting an opinion on a topic, that is my opinion, only my opinion, and not an opinion ive been asked to give , it might be a totally wrong opinion, but please, just debate the topic and not me, thats not much to ask is it ? Maybe it would help if you didn’t bounce on every thread and everyone’s opinion. That way maybe you won’t become the topic so frequently. Just my opinion. I am sure many read threads and don’t enter the discussion……..

Christ on a bloody bike that's twice I've agreed with you in two threads. I hope it isn't becoming habit forming.
There are posters on here that I am in agreement with on politics, but not on religion or on STFC, but not on Premier League or England or on the managerial post or the ownership of the club.
Everyone is welcome to their opinions and everyone else is entitled to argue for or against those opinions, but it would be better if those arguments didn't get as heated as they do. I am as guilty, if not more so than most of raising the temperature.
I am sure that many of us would welcome a social event if nothing else than an opportunity to put names to faces and I would imagine that most of us would probably tone down our arguments if we actually knew the people we were interacting with via a keyboard.
Yeah I'm up for that. One of the great challenges of our society is the inability to debate ideas without going for the person. Fundamentally disagreeing is not to dislike. Play the ball, not the man. I'm glad we found some common ground. It only twenty years and tens of thousands of posts between us 😂😂😂 the one thing I'm hoping to change in the near future is as this link explains en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominembecause I am sick and tired of posting an opinion on a topic, that is my opinion, only my opinion, and not an opinion ive been asked to give , it might be a totally wrong opinion, but please, just debate the topic and not me, thats not much to ask is it ? I completely agree with the principle that everyone is entitled to their opinion and shouldn't face abuse for it. However, the one thing I would say is that it doesn't mean it can't be challenged/debated. Too often I see people give an opinion and then when it is challenged, get defensive and accuse people of attacking them. Its your opinion, by all mean debate and defend it but don't get offended because people disagree with it. The other thing I'd like to see (but not expecting it to happen) is recognition that any criticism of STFC and people at the club does not make you any less of a supporter. I'll admit that I can be critical of various aspects but often it's because I am a supporter and get frustrated at what I perceive to be poor practices/missed opportunities and I only want what I believe to be the the best for my club. Unfortunately, too many people feel the need to defend the club at all costs and dismiss genuine concern as negativity. Neither of these really answer the opening post, but to me its a football forum and I don't think it should be too regimented so there's no need to introduce any new features. It shouldn't be too difficult really, if you are interested in the subject then give your opinion and be prepared to debate others, if you don't then ignore it. I have been guilty of attacking the messenger rather than the message, but have also been attacked. Being called a Hamas apologist or anti-Semite for questioning the killing of innocent civilians is not nice, but equally me calling someone a Tory is a slur of the highest order and I feel that I have to say 'Sorry Pilch'

I think the continued molestation, persecution, provocation, aggravation,, bedevilment, bother, disturbance, exasperation, hassle, irritation, nuisance, perturbation, torment, trouble, vexation, bothering, irking, pestering, provoking and vexing of certain members doesn't help matters.

The deletion of posts with no explanation and no context irks.

The deletion of posts with no explanation and no context irks. Last week you created a new thread asking why a post had been moved , it wasn't even your post or even anything you were involved in you just casually wondered what you'd missed as you'd not been online for 4 hours I even responded by giving you a full explanation, why I don't know Maybe going forward we could set up a helpline and have it manned 24/7 for the few who need instant answers after a minor modding has taken place , could someone knock up a crowd funding so we can make this a goer , I reckon £200k a year should get it up and running 🤩
