So instead of leaving it for open sale, he’s made money on it hmmmmmm Sorry to be pedantic, but I don’t know why you think he would have made money on it. Presumably he would have had to pay the ticket price to get the match added to his ticket and you have paid him? The game is not available as part of the season ticket as it’s a cup game.

I would never sell my ticket to an opposing supporter. If the club do when it’s on general sale that’s their problem and not mine.

The majority of Shrewsbury folk just aren't interested are they? Nail on head there for sure. Not like we are playing a big team is it

This really isn’t a big deal btw. I also know the other three Shrew fans he sits with. If I’d taken him up on his offer we’d be looking at 4 blokes sat in a row with a combined age of something like 265. Think we could be trusted to behave ourselves, but watching Wrexham in any home end isn’t for me.

Re ticket sales, I’d say we have about 5000 fans who will go to 90% of home games, another 2000/3000 who pick and choose, and then several thousand more who will only come out for Prem teams/play-off games etc.
So for this Wrexham match, the vast vast majority of fans who actively care about the club will be there, but it may not be enough to tempt those who only have a small passing interest.
Wrexham get more fans at home and away than us at the moment, well done them hopefully that’s all they have to console themselves with on Sunday evening.

A cold January afternoon with the option of sitting at home with a couple of drinks would definitely be more appealing for some.

The interesting thing about this match is that nobody is talking about the amount of money the winning club will bank for getting thro to the fourth round or who we would like to meet in the next round if we win.Its all about beating the opponents for the bragging rights.

Interested to read comments on here, if the situation were reversed I would personally hate the situation your fans are in, Wrexham have been crap and irrelevant for 15 years and now because of money there a decent chance Wrexham could come and win.
Yes there is a league difference but there isn't much difference between the squads. The big advantage you have is, your at home and you play against better opposition every week, so should could come into the game better prepared in how to deal with our threats.

Wrexham have been crap and irrelevant for 15 years I think that's the whole point, a whole generation of people don't know what Wrexham is other than a non-league meme.

I would question the statement that we play better opposition every week. Most teams we have played at the Meadow this season including Fleetwood have been League 2 standard who Wrexham would beat easily.Town and Wrexham are very evenly matched especially with our injury problems.

For me, theres very little difference in quality between 18th in League One and mid table in League Two.

"If the situation was reversed" made me wonder how many fans we would have taken to Wrexham had they hosted the tie? Not many I reckon, we really don't have the interest in Werexham that their fans seem to in us.

In fact, I’d be ashamed if we didn’t given it’s the FA Cup and for the majority of our fans no more than an hour away.

Yeah, agree with that. I've no doubt its a big game and big draw for a good many Town fans but that won't be the case for all and also a good few of your casual fans who might well attend a Cup game depending who we are playing. I made the effort and went back for the Wolves game a few years back for example, I never considered going back for this one. 👍

Sunday we could be playing
Wrexham Spurs Maidstone You name it
It's the fa cup literally anything could happen and probably will
in my time we've been massive giantkiller , as well as being humbled by sides I've never heard of I'll be less upset if we lose than I was at burton , but more happier with a win than when we beat derby
Come on town

Stevenage is definitely a bigger game Can’t agree and I think I’ll be proved right by the number of tickets sold (home end) and the lead up this week…. It’s absolutely massive for bragging rights and a return to a derby not seen for over 15 years. Plus £105k prize money and a chance of a big payday in the next round. sorry I can’t join the not a big game Willy Waving Team.

I Think this is spot on about us being used to playing better teams every week. The advantage you have is you are used to coming from behind to win over this season and last. If you get the first goal I can't see us coming back.

Totally this. I can't remember an FA Cup game before where both sides beating the other is the only thing that matters, not the next round. The one think this tie has sorted out once and for all is they do care about us despite denying it🤣🤣🤣🤣

Few of us have had to get tickets in the home end such is the demand for Wrexham tickets these days. Shocking how easy it was. The majority of Shrewsbury folk just aren't interested are they? I couldn’t do that. Can you honestly control your emotions for 90 mins? Don't think I have much choice!

We’ve got the best away support in L2 by some distance.

Likewise, Shrewsbury won’t mean anything to a generation of Wrexham fans. Plenty of our fans will see Stockport as a bigger rival and Shrewsbury as insignificant

I'd happily lose this (and the crap we will have to put with undoubtedly) if we can win for the next month. We would be virtually safe for another season by the end of January.
