ladies and gents , we have a winner Methinks he doth protest too much, just angling for the win I reckon.
Anyway, either way you can pencil Elliot in on the team sheet, could be EB or ET, unless ET goes home at Christmas this season too.
In development terms, does this mean Shrewsbury are considered a step up from a loan to Burton?
😁👍🏻

He's got a winning smile, hopefully his ability on the pitch matches this.

You mean the expression that he has landed a loan deal with a club still at the 3rd level even though his parent club are on the up (at least for 12 months) 🙄

Welcome to the club Elliot.
My only slight concern is he's almost 23 and played not much more than a couple of professional matches.
Time will tell of course.

Welcome to the club Elliot. My only slight concern is he's almost 23 and played not much more than a couple of professional matches. Time will tell of course. Guess he has always been thought of a really good prospect so his clubs have kept hold of him till he comes good, but he hasnt quite pushed on enough to gain a regular place for whatever reason. Probably this is his last season before he either pushes on or gets released to a lower level. A full season with us so every chance we might get him to sign permanently come the end of the season (if he makes it at our level of course). Guess that's the thinking behind him being here anyway.

He’ll be aware that he really needs to make an impact this season if he wants a career as a footballer. Should be the motivation he needs to have a good season with us.

Loans are always a gamble, particularly unproven youngsters, we've had some success over the years in the likes of Henderson, Godfrey, KaiKai, Campbell, Fornah but then had players who joined us and hardly featured- Bondswell, Janneh, Leshbela, Colkett, Zamburek, High, etc.
I agree with the reservations that he's 22 and barely played a game, however he was with Spurs until 2 years ago and we know that PL clubs hoover up youngsters and just play them in the U21/U23 sides so that isn't perhaps anything to worry about too much.
As it's a season long loan I'd like to think there is a level of confidence in the lads ability so fingers crossed it works out.

Reminds me of Penno, not quite making it higher up, but perhaps a great career move starts here.

Its a plus that Matt Taylor has worked with him at Spurs and thinks he can do a job for us. If he is half as good as young Phillips was for us in the second half of last season there will be no complaints. He was up there with the best of Hursts loan signings for me.

This is from a Luton fan - explains what happened at Burton last season.
“We sort of messed up his development last year with the Burton loan. Loaned to them just before they sacked Hasselbaink, new manager didn’t fancy him and because he made a sub app in our first game of the season before the Burton loan he couldn’t go out again to another club. Frustrating season for him after what looked quite a promising pre season period.
He’s not really played for us but when he has it’s actually been as a RWB, and not in central midfield which is what he was billed as. He looks tidy enough and at right wing back demonstrated he’s got a decent delivery on him. Can’t tell you too much more though as he’s rarely played.“

Well as soon as young Eliot puts on the Blue and Amber he’s one of us and if he gives his all, that’s good enough for me.

Of course you felt the need to chime in completely off topic, so in response to yours, Pennington was on the books of a pl club for that length of time yes, played games at championship on loan yes, and also turned out to be a top draw signing by the previous regime ( as were many others) including one we have just made a profit on. Thanks for your post.
