My Carlisle supporting cousin is gutted and says he is a good player, which is high praise indeed as he normally thinks everyone is s**t!!!

Carlisle fans are rather salty 😂 Yeah, aren't they just ! Very bitter, obviously they all thought he was off to Scotland, Hearts Hibs etc. Really p**sed off that he's decided to join a club in the same division as them. Oh dear, never mind😁

Pennington and Blackpool spring to mind! But look at our comments about Penno. 100% wishing well. We're just nicer people! Do these mental gymnastics intentionally ignore the Salop fans obliquely accusing Pennington of faking injury and/or refusing to play, without a shred of evidence?

Got to admit I quite like the quick solving the Pennington replacement, what I saw of him in the play off fixtures I thought he looked quite handy.
Welcome along

Welcome along He didn’t play in the play off fixtures as was injured from April. 35 appearances, 3 goals last season. According to their forum he had recovered from injury and was fit enough to figure but not included in the squad. Where have I heard that before- a player not signing a new contract and the management not including him in a play off squad?

An interesting read that. I really do not get the thing that many fans do about insisting their club is a 'bigger' club than some other club. Though, to be fair, one Carlisle fan does point out that we have been in a higher league than them for the best part of a decade.

I think they think they’re bigger than us………think they need to look a little closer, Theres a reason we haven’t played them in the same league for the last 8 years…… Surely there are other reasons? let’s see who’s famous from Carlisle? Monkhouse Davison, 18th century London merchant was born in Carlisle and had homes both in Carlisle and Dalston, Cumbria. ...
Eddie Stobart, haulage magnate & Edward Stobart his son, were born near Carlisle.
Stuart Stockdale, fashion designer, formerly head of design at Pringle of Scotland and Jaeger.
Trumped by Charles Darwin…… Robert Clive…….not to mention Percy Thrower!
So what does does Phil Spencer think? What’s not to like? ‘Carlisle can feel somewhat isolated, as it’s the only city in the Cumbria region and, even with direct train links, the nearest cities are quite far. However, if you like the idea of being remote, then Carlisle’s position will appeal.’ What’s not to like? Not much, if we’re honest. Shrewsbury is a bustling town full of beautiful architecture and a friendly local community. With close links to Birmingham, it’s also a great place to live if you need to commute. Can’t get away from it being the arse end of Scotland………..whereas on our doorstep www.visittelford.co.ukEasy decision really he probably paid to escape

What a delusional bunch they are, not surprised Feeney wanted out of there. They’re a club from the arse end of nowhere that’s been playing in League Two for 10 years in front of home gates of just over 4k. Let’s be honest, nobody would even have noticed if they’d dropped into the National League and disappeared.

Literally signed him the weekend just gone on Football Manager.
Just call me septic peg.
If we also sign Sam Nombe or Priestly Farquharson, be worried.

Perhaps we have pushed the boat out a bit but in addition to that, I would think Carlisle struggle a tad because of their location. I know we're off the beaten track a little but Carlisle really is the arse end of nowhere (no offense meant, sure its a nice place and all that but you get my meaning). Wouldn't surprise me if that played its part.
But on the face if it, this does look a very good signing. Good stuff Town.

Perhaps but it didn’t stop them playing in the old First Division in the mid 70’s . They started off really well but didn’t survive in that Div. being relegated after one season. Frank Clark played for them and was extremely well thought of . Not surprised , he was a lovely bloke was Frank and a Town legend in my opinion . So, I suppose Carlisle do have bragging rights over us having played at the highest level in their history . May be a bit isolated up there but a wonderful part of the Country . People level the same accusations at us don’t they, lovely part of the Country , lots of history but stuck out on the Welsh borders . In fact we are the Carlisle of Middle Earth 😉😂😂

The bloke was on £600 a week at Carlisle. You can't actually believe it's true! A COVID contract that was snapped up, you can't blame him but £600 a week is crazy!
I'd imagine he has 4x'd his salary to come here. Good pro, good pedigree coming through Everton and thoroughly unlucky with injuries.
Almost sounds a Caldwell/Cotterill signing?
