I won’t mention Dunkley clearly punching their player in the head It was his own fault. What a daft place to put your head.

The young guys that have worked their ass off to improve the atmosphere in the south stand should be feeling very proud of themselves tonight.
As should the team, not as comfortable as it should’ve been but I was hardly nervy we’d see it out because I’ve got so much faith and belief in this group of players at the moment. Leahy, Dunkley and Bowman were all excellent but Phillips was outstanding.
It’s madness to think how rare six in a row is for us, keep thinking the bubble will burst but we keep rolling on. Where could this season take us?

What an exciting game to put it mildly. Thought Vale started the game well ,passed it well and seemed happy to win throw ins in our half to launch the ball into our box. Where have we seen that before ? To be fair they looked confident and we couldn’t put anything together . I must say some of their throw ins were ridiculous , their players stealing bloody yards extra to gain an advantage . Don’t the officials care about this anymore. Their first goal was excellent, great ball into the box, great headed goal 1-0 Vale . No doubt SC will be asking ? but fair play to them.
I then thought Bowman started to win his physical battles and Phillips began to exert some pressure in the midfield. We won a corner and Dunkley powered his header home - great goal and we were back on level terms. Thankfully we began to dominate and scored another 2 goals and things looked good.
Second half they scored a terrible goal from our point of view. They broke and we were nowhere . What on earth we were doing God only knows . I’m sure SC will be fuming . Our keeper kept out an effort from them with a great save , could have been 3-3 . However, we saw the game out in a very hard fought battle .
One criticism though , why oh why do we get involved in stupid episodes with their wind up merchants . It achieves absolutely nothing and puts us in a situation where we could get red cards . It’s unprofessional and childish .
Anyhow , for me Phillips was immense , what a player he is for us. Bayliss I thought did well carrying the ball into their half but my MOM was Bowman . He gave absolutely everything . Worked his socks off holding the ball up , giving their defenders little time on the ball and was still battling away right to the end . Very pleased for him .
Town have a great spirit and I think this will help them during the rest of the season . Whatever happens we have a team to be proud off .

Absolutely buzzing, that was outstanding all round. The 30 mins up to half time was genuinely thrilling in a way I've not experienced at a football match in a long time, Vale simply couldn't cope, we overwhelmed them through grit, determination, hard work and sheer force of will, like the whole team played their part in forcing the ball into the net. Bowman was outstanding, Marosi did well, Phillips was superb but Dunkley for me was an absolute mountain, but otherwise just an excellent team performance, already toying with Accrington next week. . Certainly agree with all your comments re the players. Although he didn't score I thought Bowman was superb.

Bowman MOTM for me. Won everything, a real menace. Phillips was everywhere. Marosi only kicked the ball out of play once!! Dunkley very very lucky not to have been sent off for the punch. Bayliss did a job. I thought Saydee and Bennett had quiet games.

Phillips and Bowman were excellent today.
To be honest, at no point today did I think we’d fail to win that match. The only thing that could’ve cost us the game was a red card from the bits of nastiness that we were getting far too involved in. Dunkley punched their player, Bowman tried to catch one of their players on the head with his studs at one point after a bit of grappling, and Saydee was getting involved as well. Just leave it and don’t get involved.
We looked so dangerous at set pieces today, even without Flanagan and Penno. Surely one of our biggest strengths at the moment.
Decent atmosphere in the south stand, and it has to be said block 19 were immense.

You never know Vale old chap, we might not be seeing you at Shrewsbury next year the way we are playing at the moment. Best of luck when you aren't playing us. It's been good to have a sensible fan from another team on this board...

A night away before the Exeter game? Sometimes that doesn't seem to work for us, but I would imagine they would?

I echo everything that’s been said above. I’m struggling to see a weak link in this team at the moment. Surely we can’t recover in time for a 7th consecutive win on Tuesday after such a massive effort today!?

wonderfull atmosphere today, a great fight back with well taken goals during this period town pressed higher up the pitch which had an impact in the second part of the first half.a real hard working team perfomance and a very good save from our keeper, there second goal resulted from a combination of moore's poor positional awarness and a lack of pace. SC has managed to create a good team spirite.

Until someone mentioned it after the game I completely forgot about us not even having 2 of our 3 strongest centre backs available today, once the game kicked off you wouldn’t have noticed, says a lot about the squad that we can adapt and also for Moore and Leahy who’ve played all over the park for us this season and always got on with it.

Alright lads, I think the most clinical team won. Disappointing to play with no real strikers again.
Aside from the first 15 mins, your lot, in the majority were the better team. Fair play, hopefully see you next season. Enjoyed a few salopian beers, non the less.

All the best for the rest of your season.

Well, what a great game of footballl this afternoon.
Two teams going toe to toe, end to end for 90 minutes.
Great atmosphere and well done to everyone that have worked hard to turn the Salop leisure stand into a proper home end.
Well done to the boys and Mr Cotterill for pushing us up the league.

Phillips not getting MOTM is scandalous. Actually, after a goal, an assist for Leahy's and his head where it hurts dozens and dozens of times I'd say it's scandalous that Dunkley didn't get it.
