where do you start for this one ?
there are going to be a few players upset if they get left out, I think Phillips will get back in for Bayliss , will bowman squeeze out street ? he deserves a start
I think pyke might be used as an earlier sub 60ish
cant see Tom getting more than usual
really hard to predict this game, I usually have this trip as us being nothing but fodder but I think we will get an early goal so anything could happen

Oxford United v Shrewsbury Town (15:00) SCOTT OLDHAM Marvyn Amphlett and Simon Shaw Fourth Official : Paul Yates www.soccerbase.com/referees/referee.sd?referee_id=2120An interesting stat for Mr Oldham is that the only draw he has been involved in all season is when he was in charge of our game against Derby.

They have a game Wednesday which is closer than normal to a weekend game, so that may benefit us.

The only change I could see is Phillips coming back in. Possibly Bowman too. Bennett I thought looked rusty, and I think Pyke/Bloxham will remain as impact subs at best for the time being.

on paper this is a game town should have a good chance of wining but then if we go away from results town were poor against MKDons but won for 78 minutes they were worse than the bottom team and were losing but win and scored twice in extra time ! out of the last five games town have lost one but won four Oxford have lost three and won two. in the table town are 9th and oxford are 14th in the league 1 form table town are 6th and Oxford are 13th
it depends on which town team turn if it is the team who played the first 78 minutes against Forest Rovers we will lose or draw. if it is the team who finished the game and we can play like that for 90 minutes then a town win.

We still won both the last 2 games though didn't we? Four consecutive wins is a great run, regardless of who we're playing. Will be a huge confidence boost and we've had a full week to rest, too. I posted before the Buryon game that there were question marks over whether the club deserved its excellent away support. The last few weeks have gone a long way to getting rid of those question marks. Just cut the guys some slack, FFS, and get behind them. I really don't care if it's another injury time winner that goes in off Chey Dunkley's behind. A win is another to the run and 3 points more in the league and that is the only thing that matters at this point.

I really dont see another win.
1. Not many teams apart from those at the very top of the divisions win five on the trot. 2. Despite the four wins, great though they were, Town were still far from convincing in two of them. We are still an inconsistent team. 3. Its Oxford, who have become a bit of a bogey side to us in recent seasons.
Come on Town, prove me wrong and hat I'm talking rubbish.

I watched Oxford Barnsley last night and the home side didn't look too bad. They had opportunities to level once they'd got back into the game at 2-1. They were going up against a decent Barnsley and I would say they looked better than we have in the last two games which we happened to win (but then, that was against sides near the bottom). So a difficult game ahead. But there does seem to be some pressure growing as they mentioned that was their third defeat on the bounce and you could hear fans in the stands calling for the manager to be sacked. Town being Town I know I really shouldn't bother with stuff like this but even so, I'll say it anyhow...it does look to be a good time to be heading down there.

Good to hear that Manager Robinson is under pressure. Surprised he let Matty Taylor leave and brought in two unknown strikers. Always rated Taylor.

Chatting to an Oxford supporting friend, the pressure is on Robinson (and their owners) and the decision to let Taylor go has left many of them confused. After beating Ipswich they were looking to kick on and challenge for the playoffs but after 3 straight defeats they are now thinking more about getting enough points on board to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
We are on a good little run but we have seen throughout Cotterill's management here that the run can end abruptly and bring on a losing run (which then equally gets abruptly ended with a winning run), it would be nice to carry on, I'd take a draw to keep the unbeaten run going

I'd take one of those dreadful sh*thouse performances from earlier on in the season and a sweaty 0-0 draw.
Then again I'm not going so it's easy for me to say that.
4 points from the next two games would be incredible.

The squad is in a good place.Even when we don't play particularly well, we stay in the game. With a week off for us and with Oxford having played in the week, I think Town will fancy their chances. Usually, I'd expect nothing else at Oxford other than a defeat, but I think we'll get a result. A draw would be decent but i'll go with a narrow Town win.

They've lost three on the bounce, including 2-0 to Burton who we thrashed. I'd hope if ever there was a chance of us winning at the Kassam stadium it would be this time, especially after they had a tight clash mid week so plenty of tired legs.

Then again I'm not going so it's easy for me to say that. 4 points from the next two games would be incredible. Iām the exact opposite of this to be honest. Given our mid table ācomfortā, thereās absolutely no reason we should be scrapping for every point, much rather see us trying to win every single game and see where that takes us. Obviously if they get on top during the match a point becomes a decent result, but going into it why not throw everything at getting another 3 points.

I donāt expect us to win but if we go into a game against a team below us in the league; whoāve lost in midweek and whose fans have turned on their manager, hoping to grind out a draw we can definitely give up on any notion of being in the play-off mix.

I think he means he'd take an away point in the hope of obtaining three points at home against Vale. i still don't get it š it's the kind of statement you'd make for the first game of a 2 legged cup tie im just amazed after 4 wins on the bounce and climbing the table so many are hoping we can manage a draw against a side in bad form shows how many feel gutted after we didn't add about 4 players in january we are heading for the dull mid table finish everyone has been dreaming of š«¤
