Cambridge have a habit of turning journeymen strikers into 20 goals a season men.
Shrewsbury have the habit of turning career goalscorers into nobodies.

Was surprised he got a league one club after so long out but Cambridge must have faith he isn't too far off being fit. Hope he's back before not too long

He has done it in this league before but just needs someone to show faith in him to regain his form. I imagine his wage demands would be low

Bound to score against us I'm sure. Staggering prediction considering you spoke in gushing terms about the certainty that Whalley would score against us. I thought it was “written in the stars” ?

Was sad to see him go but given his injury record since he left I think we can safely say the right call was made.
Good luck to him.

He has scored 25 goals league goals since signing for us in 2018, he was with a struggling L1 side and then with a side who got relegated, oh and he's spent a long time on the sideline due to injury. I suspect there are very few fans who believe he's the type of striker we should be targeting, and if he hadn't played for us then that number would be even lower But good luck to that, I actually liked him when he was with us and was sad to see him go. I hope he gets his career on track

He had a superb run of form under Coyne and Ramsay, and Ricketts' first half season or so in charge and looked to be a really good finisher. He offered very little other than that though even during that hot streak, and once that dried up he looked like a complete passenger in the majority of his games with us, and getting money for him was probably a deal that suited all parties. There's potentially a player in there that could do well, but it's just as likely he's not quite cut out for this level, especially given his unfortunate injury last season. Even if it's the former I wouldn't blame the club or Ricketts for letting him go, it was the right decision at the time.

I hope he gets his career on track 26 goals in the league from 99 games, of which less than 2/3 of them were starts. And most of them in pretty poor sides. Not a bad record really. Much better than Dan Udoh for example. I wouldn't have been disappointed to see him return. Although not sure how long it will take him to get up to speed

Was just about to say this Zen, I completely agree. There was a good striker in him and I saw his potential, Doncaster paid money for him for a reason. I’m sure he felt the loved from the fans and looked like he was enjoying his football but unfortunately he lost that with us. Best of luck to him I hope he gets his career back on track.

Good luck to him but Udoh / Bowman are great upgrades.

I wonder who’ll play more games and score more goals, Fej or O’Brien?

I guess it was the 'this is the sort of player we should be targeting' which I was challenging, a player who has been injured for a long time and been released from a relegation side. Take out the 'ex Shrewsbury' part and no one would be suggesting we should be targeting him But like I said, good luck to him
