Off the theme of footie for a minute but has anyone ever been (or considering going) to Madeira for a holiday?
If you have we would love to know your thoughts please.
Thanks

I haven’t but all my friends who have absolutely loved it. Thanks. It's somewhere we've not really thought about in the past but as we are getting older, we, or I should say me, just doesn't like the stress of long haul, indirect routes etc. So in a nutshell we are looking at locations closer to home, especially those that neither of us have been to in the past.

My last friend who went was 70 at the time and found it very relaxing and interesting particularly if you are interested in plants.

A departed friend of mine went there regularly and adored the place.

On the topic of holidays - can anyone make any recommendations on best areas/resort centres to stay in Majorca?
Something lively but obviously not Magaluf etc as for a family

Madeira is a wonderful place for us oldies. Lovely climate. Reids Palace hotel is a very well known five star hotel on the island and a great place for afternoon tea with its wonderful sea views. Mrs Gyneddblue would love that for her birthday or your next anniversary.

We go to Puerta Pollensa several times every year. Its our 'go to' place. Sure there are other nice places away from Magaluf but we know PP like the back of our hands and its great for us, even go during the winter when its "closed"(its not really, just a lot quieter). As for Madiera, weve always avoided it because it's meant to rain quite a bit??? We dont do places that rain on holiday, get far too much of it in the UK.
