Defeat wouldn’t be the end of the world to be honest. We’ve a threadbare squad as it is, so extra games aren’t going to help. Give some of the bench players a game, Pyke, Bloxham, couple of the youth players and see what happens. Such a sad situation to find ourselves in again, when you think a defeat wouldn’t be a bad option, huff.

Cup games are always a great source of income, especially if we get a bigger club in the later rounds. We should always try to progress. The money we get could make a big difference next season. It doesn't look like we are going to set league 1 alight this season so I decent cup run could at least bring a bit of excitement. I understand your point but I hope SC doesn't agree with you.

Well worth having a cup run for that

Dont asked me where I got it from but I have always been under the impression clubs get around 80k for being picked to be on TV Just found this "The EFL hand out Championship clubs £100,000 for every home game that a club hosts on Sky Sports, with that figure going up to £120,000 for games being played on a Sunday and £140,000 for Thursday games. Visiting sides are awarded £10,000 per game." www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-sky-sports-earnings-14548856That is for Championship games though.

League Cup is very much the poor relation compared to FA cup, for both prize money and tv money

we are that thin on the ground he could play pike upfront. we look very threadbare and whilst a defeat wont help moral. SC needs to try somthing different in midfield as it is a mess and it is far to easy for opponents to dominate , might as well get the youth players off the bench
since we seem incapable of scoring 0-0 or a one goal defeat.

I think Pyke did enough on Saturday to warrant a run-out upfront from the start tonight. With the doubts about Udoh and O'Brien and SC possibly wanting to rest Bowman it could also mean a start for Bloxham. Otherwise I think it will be a pretty strong team and it is important for the new midfield to get as much game time together as possible. I agree this competition is not what it was and is possibly on its last legs but the team really needs any sort of win to kickstart the season. The last seven goals in competitive games at the Meadow have been scored by the opposition so we need to correct that and quickly.

I’d be looking to bring either Bayliss or Shipley out for Bloxham. No point risking Udoh for this if he’s still not 100%.
Or even Shipley and Leahy in the deeper midfield positions with Leahy sitting in. And Bayliss, Bloxham and Bowman in front of them.
I wouldn’t complain if Pyke got a decent run out tonight either, he looked sharp at the weekend.

I’m going for same team as Saturday. Bowman needs to nick a goal tonight for his confidence.
