Let’s all run on the pitch if we beat this lot on penalties 😂 (jokes)
Hopefully a win and a nice confidence booster but I don’t think we’ll have it all our own way. Carlisle beat Crawley and drew at Colchester yesterday so it’s been a good start for them. Will be interesting to see what reception Simpson will get but it’ll be nice to see him back at full health. I guess time has mellowed and he received a lot of goodwill over the last year or so so I’d expect mainly a good reception.
I’ll say 2-1. Dacosta and Udoh.

Did he s**t on us (apart from, I suppose as a parent, thinking his son was good enough)? Did he do his best? Did he and his missus wash the kits at Stockport? Was he seriously ill and has come back stronger? He deserves a good reception.

Simpsons " diabolical" comment still grates me.
However, he's done well since at England.
Had my laugh at him when we all " did the Simpson" at Stockport away, think won 4-0.
A nice bloke off the field I think, that Darlington defeat at home was the lowest point at the new stadium surely?
Had so much money to get us up and blew it.

I still feel we have played OK despite no goals and only the one point from two games. There were chances yesterday; one or two we failed to take, one or two that saw their keeper pull off decent saves. The red card changed the game, without that who knows how it would have turned out. I still think there are reasons to be optimistic. Tuesday night should give us an indication whether that really is the case or not considered we're going up against a 4th division side at home. Fail to score again on Tuesday then...

lets not forget Simpson signed Grant Holt, our best signing that I can remember
and then Kris Bright, probably the worst
and we won 7-0 ( 2 games running) including my all time favourite game against Gillingham
and lost to gillingham in my all time worst ever game
hit and miss to say the least

the trouble with this game is its best to go out of the comp right now
but a defeat if never good for morale especially after a poor start
I'd be happy to see all other squad members get a game
it will be annoying to see minimum changes and same old subs coming on late

Yep, give Barlow a game in midfield, and bloxham a run up top, you can then see if they're up to it or not, and hopefully they would be

A game I wouldn't ordinarily care about but the result on Saturday and the fact the we looked so undercooked perhaps means we should treat this as a chance to get off the mark this season.
Absolutely don't see this as a game we could do without.
Easy to say now that we should play the kids and hope for the best but I can't imagine the crowd reaction would be too positive with a second consecutive home defeat in a matter of days.

Still shudder thinking about that Rochdale loss 2-0 and how poor we were in the Carabao.
Def need to be up for it playing L2 sides who enjoy trying to beat bang average L1 sides like us.

Agree with this. We can debate how important the competition is (I still rate it despite it being devalued for a while now), however if were to play a weakened side and/or lose tomorrow then you know that lots of people would be complaining. There were pockets of decent play on Saturday and hopefully the more they play together, the more they will click so I'd expecting a strong eleven tomorrow. Plus as we are all fully aware our squad isn't the biggest so I'm not sure how many we could rotate anyway

I'd love to see a 4-3-3 with Bowman, Udoh & O'Brien and just go all out, but it's not going to happen.

See BBC have us down as a 7.30 kick off. Is that correct?

Considering the number of preseason games played (and that one of them was chasing Cardiff around the pitch for 90 minutes) the more games we play at the minute the better. And with that I mean I hope we go with the first team, no changes (unless we mean to make the same come the weekend).

Any indication from Cotterill what squad might be for this?
As it's so early in the season and started poorly I would think this seems a good time to get first team some more minutes together, other than possibly resting those with niggles. Possibly some youth off the bench but don't expect to see Craig, Barlow, Caton et al starting

In pre match interview SC suggests couple of changes. I think they may change something with the forward/AM line up. They don’t have the numbers to make sweeping changes but in any case a game id assume they will try and win (Pizza cup more likely to see Craig/Caton/Barlow)?

The cupboard is somewhat bare at the moment, looks like we wont see O'Brien and Bennett any time soon and whether or not Dan is ready for a full start is also questionable.
Pyke and Bloxham to start?

Play Pyke & Caton, we can then move on from either of them being anywhere near good enough for the football league.
