Sad news, but he made it to 93. The world seems a little less fun without him. RIP.

It was only the other week when my mum and me were watching Two Way Stretch. The sort of film that just doesn't get made anymore (thank goodness for Vintage TV etc, you can still view them).
He was someone I grew up with, as he was a regular on Jackanory and then of course the Wombles.
As my wife said when she heard the news, he was from my neck of the woods (started off at Oldham Rep), he will be sadly missed.
Rest in Peace Bernard.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11057181/Doctor-actor-Bernard-Cribbins-dies-aged-93.htmlMuch-loved actor Bernard Cribbins - the voice and face of childhood for generations of Britons - has died at the age of 93, it was revealed today - just months after his beloved wife of almost 70 years passed away. The death of the British star, who was in many Carry On films, Fawlty Towers, Doctor Who, narrated The Wombles, Jackanory and was in the classic 1970 film adaptation of The Railway Children, has devastated friends and fans. Oldham-born Mr Cribbins, whose mother was a cotton weaver and father was a 'champion clog fighter', became one of the most versatile and popular entertainers of his generation, managing to be a favourite on children's TV while also starring in the bawdy Carry On films. R.I.P.

He was in a similar film with Peter sellers. Bernard played a mob boss called nervous O'Toole. I think it was called the wrong arm of the law. Absolute classic and a lot of fun
