See that we are the last League 1 team to play a pre-season game, because the Qatar SC match being called off.
As of this moment 8 teams have played 3 times, 6 have played twice and 9 once each, with a stack of games being played tonight.
Soooo last to kick off and still waiting for our new kit to arrive 🤪🤪.. you've gotta laugh 😆😆

There’ll still be plenty without tickets complaining they didn’t know. Sometimes you have to tell people the obvious and they still get it wrong. The ticket office BTW is a lady at a desk who goes online for you, selects the ticket and prints it and takes your money…Takes an age so any more than a few could cause a problem. "Takes an age", well there is a much easier solution. Pay at the gate, the simplest way to gain entrance to a football ground ever (assuming they atent expecting a sell our crowd - we are a big draw but doubt we will fill the stadium for a friendly). Pay at the gate...so simple,so easy,so fast....but obviously the club didn't know who I was. Turn up at The Gay Meadow at ten to three with my two sons and my daughter, standing on The Riverside at five to...happy days😀...move on twenty years I'm a pensioner, and a Grandad, and they are in their late thirties/early forties with children of their own. How on earth did that happen??😀

Good to see the moaners are out in full force before we've even kicked a ball! 😁
Makes you wonder who they'll be cheering for......
I can remember a pre-season when we played loads of friendlies and won most of them about three nil. We still had a rubbish start to the season. Nothing really matters until 30th July.
Maybe someone with nothing better to do can do a correlation at the end of August between the teams with the most friendlies played and the league position at that time. The idea is growing on me 🤔....we could have another table of teams whose kit was released earliest against current league positions. 😉

The kit situation is an absolute farce. Going on from last seasons farce.... As long as the players end up with a kit they won't be that concerned. The fans, and the providing of things for them to buy are both an inconvenience to the town.

You might be right but the quality of the the players available is directly connected to the turnover of the club. I’d go as far as the CEOs most important job is increasing turnover. So the more the club can encourage fans to spend the better the club will perform. I just don’t understand why the running of the club is so secretive. We’ve joked about when’s the open day and when’s the kit arriving but the facts are the club aren’t that bothered about us especially if we ask awkward questions. I get promotion e mails from Morecambe and they’ve sent one most weeks during the closed season with offers and promotions.

The fans, and the providing of things for them to buy are both an inconvenience to the town. There does appear to be a massive improvement on the communication front from somewhere within the club these last few weeks. Hopefully this is after reading of our frustrations on here, and hopefully it will move onto other areas that we would like to think our opinions and thoughts could be taken into consideration. And, no I havnt seen a pig flying overhead. Just a hope I've got.

He might reply to emails quite quick and do a scripted 8 minute interview every quarter, but he doesn't maximise our revenue streams which is ultimately where he should be judged.

I couldn't care less about pre-season games, it's the managers decision, he can fall on his sword if he gets it wrong. Thats tactics, some managers like one or two games, some like loads, I'll leave that to them.
However the commercials, there's no excuse. Get the kit on sale, fill the club shop, get a new club shop website, engage your fanbase. Absolute basics.

My recent direct dealings with the club have always been positive whether it be Martin at the ticket office, Sib in the club shop or Andy Tretton with commercial enquiries but the marketing side is largely dreadful. Brian's videos only usually come out when there's a reasonable online reaction to something the club has done (or hasn't done) otherwise they're generally 8 minutes of your life you won't get back.

I’ve more or less given up on friendlies now, it’s so rare to actually see a competitive one.

Strange that such a poorly run club is in a significantly better position than alot clubs of a similar size, especially from a financial point of view. In fact we are widely envied for our finances and assets by others. But hey ho I forgot we should be in the championship on 6k attendances, or that if we have a new kit we will play better!!!

Udoh as captain. Also surprised that Pyke has started! Perhaps Mr Ricketts is scouting Pyke this evening, as I believe he has a vacancy for a fork lift driver at the builders merchants.

Blue & Yellow Fanzine on Twitter: " digital tickets are great eh!! One turnstile open… t.co/O2vlcBsQcf" / Twitter It's like the champions league final in Paris all over again. The next thing will be gangs of locals looking for trouble after the game, whoever heard such a thing in Telford!!!

Udoh as captain. Also surprised that Pyke has started! Pykey to be this year's big success story, like Udoh was last year?
Or just on view in case Telford/anyone want to take him off our hands?
We'll see. Would be great for the lad if it's the first idea. Good luck Mr Pyke either way.

Anything exciting going on? Taken from the live match comments on Shropshire star no "HT: AFC Telford 0-0 Shrewsbury. Not masses to write home about, it has to be said. Competitive enough, both clubs had little glimpses."
