Hadn't seen a thread so here goes!
The annual kick the neighbours game, should be the Shropshire Senior Cup Final too.
Who's going? Looking forward to visiting the Cock Hotel pre match as well. Always a good game out and first chance to see the newbies.
Reckon we'll be in our new kit anyone? 🤣

We haven't got a new kit!!
Would be good to play in the Umbro retro kit just for one game.

Shirts v skins it is then...👍
It is disappointing about the lack of new kit for sure but looking forward to see if we get a look at some of the new lads. As always I'm sure reality will catch up with us a few weeks into the season but nice to feel a little bit of excitement about things at the moment (what with the players we have brought in).
Seen plenty of clubs making their preseason games available to watch online but unfortunately not seen anything to suggest this one will be...

It's was the Suez Canal last season, I wonder if it'll be blocked in the Ukrainian ports this time?

Understandable with Derby, given their situation, but the team will have the new kit by the start of the season. The fans will have to wait until Autumn.

Who's going by train to this one? 👍 Couple of interesting pubs in Wellington, plus refurbished Cock Hotel now open. Earlier kick off will make it easy to get 22.10 back to Salop

Expect the game to be played at a leisurely pace with lots of drink breaks thrown in.

Expect the game to be played at a leisurely pace with lots of drink breaks thrown in. Well that’s non league football for you, Wrexham and Telford are used to it.

Can Town fans pay on the day ? I’ve looked on Town’s and their website and can’t see anything either way regarding pay on the day. I’ll be calling our ticket office in the morning to check however, I’d be very surprised if we can’t pay on the day.

You need to call Telford ticket office I doubt our will know, we’re not selling tickets. Or go on line and just buy one afctelfordunited.ticketco.events/uk/en/e/afc_telford_utd_v_shrewsbury_town

Interested to see who we start with tonight. Presume Steve will be looking to give his preferred eleven some time to gel, before making some changes in the second half and keeping everyone fresh and sharp.
Fingers crossed we aren’t wearing the yellow kit.

I did have to laugh at the tweet 'supporters are encouraged to buy online or from the Telford ticket office', as far as I can see those are the only ways to buy tickets!

I've just called the Telford ticket office and you can purchase tickets from the ticket office tonight however, the lady said that our seated allocation has almost sold out so, if it was a seat I wanted, then to buy online as soon as.

well it will be good to get the team up to speed and have an opportunity to see how the new players are shapping up, a win would be nice but the pre season is about sorting out the first 11 and giving players time to gell. i would expect large numbers of subs for the second half as SC trys to see what the players can do in a real game even if some of them feel more like a training ground.

As long as they don’t stand in a line holding hands and do that whooosh thing they tried last year. Embarrassing 🙈
Dont expect too much but surely fitter and more together than Telford with a weeks training together so should be dominant.

There’ll still be plenty without tickets complaining they didn’t know. Sometimes you have to tell people the obvious and they still get it wrong. The ticket office BTW is a lady at a desk who goes online for you, selects the ticket and prints it and takes your money…Takes an age so any more than a few could cause a problem.

I’m a bit surprised that there is no match preview on the website or interview with SC. Maybe this doesn’t usually happen with a Telford pre-season game (can’t remember previous summers!) or perhaps it’s the media team not yet back from holiday.
Or, of course, it could all be on Twitter which some of us choose not to look at.

My comment wasn't so much about the fact they put out a statement saying how to purchase tickets, it was the fact they were encouraging fans to do it via online/ticket office which suggested there was an alternative when there isn't. Yes I was being facetious/pedantic But I've said it repeatedly over the years one of biggest annoyances I have with our comms is when it comes to ticketing, it's only ever a issue for localish games but they often leave details ambiguous which inevitably leads to lots of people questioning 'can I pay on the day/at the gate'. In this case they could put out a simple 'Just a reminder, tickets can be purchased right up till kick off but can only be from the Telford website or Telford ticket office, no tickets can be purchased on the turnstiles and therefore we would encourage fans to purchase in adance using the website'. I would have suggested that our ticket office twitter page could have posted something similar but appreciate that might be wishful thinking (especially as they haven't bothered to post details for our home friendlies or the League Cup game)

"Large number of subs"?? Maybe he will use all our squad, but I doubt that would be classed as large given the current depth of our squad unless we have a few on trial.

"Takes an age", well there is a much easier solution. Pay at the gate, the simplest way to gain entrance to a football ground ever (assuming they atent expecting a sell our crowd - we are a big draw but doubt we will fill the stadium for a friendly).
