Well done Pompey for not kowtowing to fringe rights groups.

As it was played behind closed doors I doubt they were bothered either way. Which raises the question: Why wasn't our fixture with Q Steve Cotterill played behind closed doors?

As it was played behind closed doors I doubt they were bothered either way. It wasnt played behind closed doors, there was approx 200 fans there. I saw a few Pompey fans online questioning the game, particularly after we had cancelled ut. But I'm assuming that there was no statement from any Pompey fans calling for the game to be off for the press to jump on, so it went ahead relatively quietly.

Without knowing what the political stance of a bunch of guys who just wanted a friendly with us was, it looks like teams snubbing them have been rude and impolite. Had the word Qatar not been in their name then the games would have all gone ahead, provided said bunch of footballers weren't pushing their country's politics onto us - just like things will go ahead, with tolerence on both sides, at the World Cup.

I saw a story about Portsmouth fans having suncream and water confiscated for the game which was played in 35oC heat. Spain don't seem that interested in human rights either then

Spain don't seem that interested in human rights either then Nor animal rights if they still allow bullfighting. And again, human rights, if they are prepared to risk the health and safety of matadors for "entertainment".

This has now been changed. You can only state what you read at the time. Pompey fans seem more concerned about the identity of the trialist who scored for them.

Unfortunately, or fortunately for some, this discussion has no real end or reasonable outcome. We all have our views on different matters, human rights, human wrongs, environmental, political, economics, but does it really need to come to the point where it rules your life, and others. Everyone has a choice to not go where they don't want to, turn the tv off, buy products they agree with, vote for who they want, but this should always be a personal choice, or with like minded individuals. It should not really be to the detriment of others who have differing views and who are just looking to live their own life in a way that has no concern with anyone else. I am personally not anti anything that is legal, and if we all knew the truth or took a moral stance in our daily lives, then we probably wouldn't go on holiday, eat or drink alot of products, buy certain goods, support certain charities, put fuel in our cars etc.
