Given this stunning weather we're enjoying at the moment, have we've ever thought of having one of the earlier games feature a bit more of a selection at the fanzone etc?
Nothing too big of course but would be excellent

Edgeley Park has hosted some great close season beer festivals in recent years, sitting up in the main stand watching the sun go down over the metropolis of Stockport. Would love to see similar at the Meddah

Probably wont happen. A few of our fans are fully of the impression that the club cant organise a p**s up in a brewery. 😀

Yeah, this’d be really good, and would no doubt end up being a real money-maker. Such a shame we don’t look to maximise our revenue streams as a club.

I can understand why the powers that be wouldn't want one for a league game but you could do it for a pre-season game, perhaps combined with an open day too (whatever happened to them???).
I went to a T20 game a few years back at Edgbaston and they had a ale festival, probably no more than 10 choices but it worked well.

I very much doubt we'll have a beer festival. It might attract common people.

I very much doubt we'll have a beer festival. It might attract common people. Gins popular too these days. But best pf all would be a wine and cheese tasting involving Shrewsbury's very own, world renowned, Tanners wine merchants.

At the last Bishops Castle Beer Festival, there was the Juan cafe which was dedicated to gin. I think it was called Mr Whitingdale's Gin Emporium, and very popular it was too. Our beer festival will return in 2023.

Do I work at the same company as you? 🤣 We did our Trade tasting at the Meadow this year. Went well by all accounts.

Gin sneaks up on me, because it has tonic with it. But the biggest headache recently was my Christmas special - A Rusty Nail, Dram Buie and single malt whisky - very nice, but may cause a headache the next day.

Always the second weekend in July. The Friday night is the best it's quieter. The coaches, mostly from mid Wales usually come on the Saturday. Sadly, the last train left in 1935. www.disused-stations.org.uk/b/bishops_castle/

I've always thought you could turn the Shropshire senior Cup semi finals/final into one.
2 games each day on the meadow pitch, semis one day, 3rd/4th playoff and final the next. Beer/food festival in the fanzone, ticket gets you entry to all 4 games. Make it a focus on local produce and maybe even a bigger "guest" team, like in the old days. It'd be fantastic.

Didn’t we do something kind of like that under Mellon in the SSC? Think we played Market Drayton at their place and we were clear that we were treating it as a first team fixture, we really encouraged supporters to make the journey and they laid on extra hospitality? Think I was on holiday and missed it, but a shame that didn’t continue.

To be fair Frankwell did say a “bigger” team. I think he means Cefn Druids…

Must be this weekend then hic How did it go? It hasn't been held since covid, but they've already said it will return next year.

Must be this weekend then hic How did it go? There was a sort of "unofficial" music & beer festival held at the Castle Hotel & The Six Bells.
