Hoping we sign a decent no.9. Speculation we were in for Vokes last season who I think would have made us a top half team.

I expect us with the squad that shaping up to compete but I don't expect us to trouble the top 6. I think our achilles heel again will be scoring goals......all top teams have decent GF column for a reason. Its all well being solid and hard to beat if your not sticking it in the onion bag yourself enough to win games, as per last season Crikey, 28 goals from your 2 main strikers in a team struggling to score goals..... think the problem isnt with the strikers it is more down to the lack of goals by the rest of the team. I'd be more than happy to see Udoh and Bowman get another 28 between them this season, just need the midfield and defence to bag some more.

Nice to be optimistic for the first time in a while.
Looking back at the 2020/21 summer transfer window and we signed Josh Daniels and Rekeil Pyke. Fossey, High and Sarkic came in on loan too. We all knew that we would be in for a season of struggle after that.
This season seems to be a big step up from that. I think RW was being extremely cautious with finances during the pandemic. Now that we seem to be out of the woods with that, he has loosened the purse strings.

Dunkley and Pennington will both be real threats from set pieces, and I’d like to think Leahy, Shipley and Bayliss will all be chipping in with a few. Can see us scoring significantly more than last season. As I’ve said though, I’d ideally like an upgrade on Bowman. But it’s certainly not the end of the world if we don’t.

Think a few are getting a little carried away. Squad still looks light to me, notable in the midfield area and another striker in my opinion.
Like both Udoh and Bowman, who did well last season, but it's a long old slog and we need proper effective options to rotate, something we clearly lacked last season.
I'd be amazed and disappointed if we anyway near a relegation battle next season, but would also be surprised if we have a serious crack at top 6

Looking at the signings made to date they basically replace every player that’s left:
Dacosta replaces Daniels Bayliss replaces Davis Moore replaces Pierre Dunkley replaces Ebanks-Landell Shipley replaces Vela O’Brien replaces Whalley
They look on paper as mostly upgrades, but we still need to replace the returning Fornah and Janneh as well as a further one or two just to boost last seasons numbers which were a stretch for large parts of the season.
Definitely feeling more positive than negative at the moment though.

Good signings I'm sure they will be. But I'd rather hope we arent anywhere near finished yet by some way.
