I was going to point that out to our miserably fellow “fan”…..not sure what more the town can do to win over the doom and gloom merchants….comments like “not so impressive to me” is the type of reaction that breeds negatively….He may turn out to be not as good as expected…but we need to be positive from the get go, this season could be special

One of Cotterills' biggest critics has been quiet on the multiple signing threads 🤔

I will go out on a limb and say this is the most impressive of all the signings…..this lad has the potential to be quality, too good for league 1 Loans to Bury, Cheltenham and Southend don’t sound so impressive to me. Perhaps you’re living up to your name! Players are rarely loaned out to clubs in the same league, especially young ones. It’s all about getting game time. If Moore was good enough to play regularly for a better team, presumably he would have stayed at BC. The fact that he didn’t doesn’t mean they didn’t rate him at all. As has been said elsewhere, let’s judge all of the new players (and Cotterill) after ten games at the very least. Regarding the absence of comments from anti-SC posters, he has already taken away two of the main complaints from last summer (lack of recruitment and friendlies - at least partially). The critics will come flooding back if we don’t win our first three games!

The history of football is awash with players who for whatever reason failed to make an impact with one club, but went on the make huge impacts at another.

Pretty sure he played in one or both of the Bristol City FA Cup games three years ago. I would imagine he will play RCB but saw in the article he has played DM where we are a bit short. Could also mean Pennington or Flanagan on the way out but I hope not. Also looks like Nurse is seen by SC as a LWB. Even playing a back 3, you need 4 or preferably 5 who can cover those positions. We have now achieved that. A short term injury or suspension should not affect us too badly now.

Interesting signing, let’s hope he’s improved since he played against us for Bury, I do remember this game.... Junior Brown absolutely tormented him!

SC contract runs out 2024 NOT 2023. Yep, so he'll be here in 2023/24 looking to keep us in the Championship!

Not a player I have heard of, a bit like Bayliss, but the seriously good reaction on socials from fans of other clubs re. this signing and quite frankly all of the other five, encourages me massively! So far I'm thinking this;
Marosi
Pennington Dunkley Flanagan
Bennett Moore Shipley Bayliss Leahy
O'Brien Udoh
Burgoyne, DaCosta, Nurse, Bowman, Bloxham, Caton, Pyke
We still need another centre midfielder in my opinion, whether that be a young loan or another wow signing, but other than that I don't think we're too far off. There have been cries for another LWB but I see Nurse & Leahy battling it out for that spot, at the moment. I'd take another forward too to replace Pyke if we can shift him out.

I’m genuinely excited about the signings we’ve made in last few weeks, but to suggest a loanee is likely to be the best of the lot, is stretching it IMO. I don’t expect him to be in the starting line up most weeks if everyone is fit, but a good addition to the squad.

From what I'm aware Moore is a centre back or right back. Not a defensive mid. May be able to operate there but doubt he is going to be a first choice central midfielder.
Obviously SC has moved players around but think that was more in need rather than as planned. A Moore - Leahy central midfield seems a bit much!

I think Taylor will be used as cover - very useful and effective cover at that too. Will still rack up a number of games given injuries etc but think we will start with Dunkley, Flanagan and Pennington in defence with Leahy in the anchor role and Bayliss sitting deep and looking to burst forward with the ball. Shipley behind the front two.
