So very sad to read that Julee has died at 65. She suffered from lupus and took her own life.
Julee sang "Falling", the theme song, and many of the other songs in Twin Peaks, as well as appearing as one of the singers at the notorious Roadhouse. She had a haunting, other worldly voice that suited the programme and film perfectly.
I didn't know until just now that David Lynch wanted to use This Mortal Coil's "Song To The Siren", which I referenced in the cover versions thread yesterday, in Twin Peaks but the cost of the licensing rights was too high. Much as I love that song, I'm glad they weren't able to use it because instead Angelo Badalamenti and Julee produced the exquisite "Mysteries Of Love".
I also didn't know that Julee toured with the B52s, one of my favourite bands, in the 1990s while Cindy Wilson took a sabbatical. I'd have loved to have seen one of those shows.
If you love beautiful, haunting melodies and don't know her work, I urge you to find or stream some of Julee Cruise's songs.
RIP

Her voice really suited their style. RIP
