The fairy story would be a Ukraine win and you would have to have a heart of stone to not wish it could happen,after there win against Scotland i really thought they would do it .to be honest i never thougt they would do this in my life time ,well we have and let us hope we wont have to waite 64 years before doing it again.
They were the better team in the first half , in there tactics and approach play and were creating the chances. Hennessay made a number of vital saves and the defence put there bodies in the way to make vital blocks.
Gareth Bale free kick and a cruel own goal and Wales 1-0 up which was very much against the run of play .
Second half Wales had chance as they counter attacked and hit Ukraine on the break as Ukraine tried to get back in the game both teams had chances , really dont know how Ukraine did not score a nail bitting end and extra time.
some heartbroken Ukraine players who gave everything but football can be a cruel game .

just to have the icing on the cake welsh boxer Joe Cordina defeats the defending champ Kenchi Osawa to win world IBF superfeatherweight title. if you just wont to skip to the KO forward it to 5minutes and 20 seconds, after that punch he did not know what day of the week it was.

Congratulations to Wales - this generation of players richly deserve to play in a World Cup finals. As for the Ukraine team, in extremely difficult and unique circumstances they have conjured up two magnificent performances. I am sure their efforts have further inspired the Ukranian nation in their fight against the barbaric invasion of their country.

I'm 62 so up until now I've not seen Wales in a World Cup Final.
I hope we do ourselves proud come the time.
I'm just sorry that it had to be Ukraine that we beat.

Wales had to dig deep for that but it’s about bloody time they qualified for the World Cup again. just checked 1958 qualifying, Wales finished 2nd in their group a group of 3 sides, Wales won 2 and lost 2 neither the other 2 sides exist anymore Czechoslovakia East Germany amazingly England , Scotland , Wales, N Ireland & Ireland all qualified |

Really pleased for Wales. Really sorry for Ukraine. A sentiment shared by many I'm sure JT. As much as I'm pleased to see Wales at the World Cup at the final whistle my thoughts were very much on the Ukrainians. Feel for them. |
