Hope Grimsby win their Play off final and no sour feelings from me for Paul Hurst.

I’ve been cheering on Paul Hurst all season. I, too, would like nothing better than to see him triumph by vanquishing the infidels of Solihull.

I think in two years time we'll be welcoming Paul Hurst to MWM as a League 1 manager again.

I can’t begrudge Grimsby winning, they’ve played fantastic in these play-off games that I’ve watched. If they stay down they’ll be strong contenders for the title next season which will be bad news for Wrexham so for that reason, come on Solihull Moors. Nothing against Paul Hurst but Wrexham staying in the pub league as long as possible takes priority for me.

Not bothered about the Hurst issue, but Grimsby have been a long standing league side and well supported.so wouldn’t mind them winning. However Solihull finished season very strongly and wouldn’t be surprised if they win.

Very much torn on this one. On the one hand I'd much prefer to see an established club like Grimsby get back to where they belong. Think overall they will bring much more to the FL long term than Solihull who to me are just another club from the lower levels of non league, not much different to another Sutton United, Harrogate, Forest Green, Salford, Crawley or Stevenage.
On the other hand I would have quite a smile on my face if PH was to fail at the last hurdle. I really would.
Ex Town interest in both camps. Waterfall and McAtee for Grimsby, Ryan Barnett for Solihull.

Grimsby have been entertaining in the play offs - albeit in a get-it-in-the-mixer-and-scramble kind of way - but Solihull finished higher and have never been in the league before, so I hope they win.

Solihull Moors would be an interesting addition to the EFL, only formed in 2007 as the result of the merger of two clubs, Solihull Borough and Moor Green. Visited Damson Park for a pre season friendly involving Salop a few years back, I think a few temporary stands have popped up since to boost the capacity but it's quite a basic small ground adjacent to a huge Land Rover factory.
Having said all that though, I'd be pleased to see Grimsby go up, especially after the way they have battled back in their play off ties at Notts County and Wrexham which was great entertainment to see.

Best team in the playoffs is a decent shout, but not the league We finished 17 points behind Hereford, but still won the play offs thanks to 2 penalty shootouts and never having to face Hereford, just as Solihull won't have to face Wrexham.

Just think they've got better quality players than the rest.i would buy mcatee over mullin, and fox over jordan Davies, and sousa ain't bad either.wxms only got the long throw---- didn't see anything else that caught my eye.dunno why we let mcatee go--- got a bit of class

Definitely think Mcatee is a better footballer, but Mullin is better over the course of the season. Mcatee poses too much for me. Don’t know too much about Fox, but opinion is divided over Davies. 20 goals from midfield any level is impressive, but for me he (Davies) doesn’t do enough for 90 minutes. Saying that, to put this season into perspective, he and his partner lost a child a few months ago, so credit to him for achieving what he did.

No. I have too many bad memories of being turned over by Batch, the Moore Brothers, Ford, Drinkell, Wilkinson and Lund, not to mention one of the worst pubs in England just a short distance from Blundell Park. Solihull for me!

Good luck Grimsby, proper club an good luck Paul Hurst. That season he gave us was unreal. Totally agree about them being a proper club. Huge affinity between Wrexham and Grimsby fans, especially after last week’s game. I can’t see much about Solihull that would make them a welcome addition to the EFL. Very few fans, not a nice ground to visit and d**n terrible football.

Looking forward to another dramatic match - the lower-league playoffs have mostly delivered good entertainment this year. The London stadium is a bit of an odd venue for the game - our Cup replay against West Ham was not a great experience there.

I'll generally back the team who haven't been in the league before in these games just for the variety. If it weren't for Hursty I'd be extremely unenthusiastic about Grimsby going up, drab as they come as a fixture (what even is a "proper club" anyway?)

As someone who travels all over the country to watch STFC, from a selfish point of view Solihull is a much easier trip than Cleethorpes if we get them in a League Cup or Pappa John’s tie. I have seen us once at Solihull in a Friendly but have been to Cleethorpes several times and it always rains and the wind off the North Sea is biting.

Nothing against Hurst or Grimsby but I tend to support those who are local and so hope Solihull get the win. No bad thing to see another Midlands team make it to the League...👍

Grimsby for me for a few reasons. Historically a league club who’ve suffered over the last 15 years yet maintain very healthy support averaging 5713 at home and regularly take 2/3000 away…. Soily Hill averaged 1779 and even in their home play off leg only managed 4020 including Chesterfield fans…. So couldn’t muster more than 3k fans for the biggest game in their history and could have accommodated 1500 more.
Ground and fan base not ready for the league yet.

Good luck Paul Hurst and Grimsby.
He gave me the most enjoyable season of supporting Salop for some time. I am over the way in which he left and it’s water under the bridge as far as I’m concerned.
Solihull looked a non league setup when I watched the semi final. And after the two play-off matches that I saw Grimsby come through, I think they deserve it (especially after their triumph over our Welsh film star neighbours!!)
