Apparently signing elsewhere. Kick in the teeth if true after apparently agreeing to stay

Apparently signing elsewhere. Kick in the teeth if true after apparently agreeing to stay Source? Because unless we are getting a fee, he seems to be in breach of contract if this is true. "The Shropshire Star revealed midfielder Vela, 28, was offered fresh terms and the club have confirmed he has signed and agreed the contract".

Nothing on wiki.
At least Wrexham presumably would not be an option bearing this in mind "At the end of the 2018–19 season, Vela confirmed that he would be leaving the club after seventeen years. He left because his relationship with manager Phil Parkinson became irreparable as Vela refused to be on the bench and was annoyed that loan players were playing instead of him."

If he’s going it will be for a fee unless the club lied…..
Why don’t those that say he’s going tell us why they think that?

He may have signed a new contract but can still move if his new club pay a fee for him. We don’t know the length of the contract either as it was undisclosed which isn’t normal. The club may have been disguising the fact that it’s a short contract to not alert other clubs.

Jordan Shipley signed a contract extension so Coventry would get a fee for him. It's possibly the same situation with Vela or it could be unfounded rumour just like Morosi's 'done deal'move to Swansea. We'll have to wait and see I suppose, like always.

It's a pity we know hoo it is, otherwise we could have a field day. An undisclosed player with an undisclosed contract is moving to an undisclosed club for an undisclosed fee.
That should clear everything up.

Shrewsbury Town website does not say anywhere that Vela has signed a new contract . The retained list refers to Vela and Bennett have agreed terms not that they have signed contracts!

Vela agreed a new contract as opposed to having an extension triggered, right?
I can only suggest Fleetwood made an offer we couldn't refuse or he had a change of personal circumstances and wanted to relocate back to the North West.
Bizarre.

If there's a decent fee it's good business.

All over Twitter that he's going to Fleetwood and it's on a free transfer. If thats the case he didn't sign the contract, despite the Star saying he did

Sounds like a done deal for Fleetwood alongside ex Town player Joe Riley going in to the backroom staff.
Can't wait to hear Cotterill's words on this.

If this is true we really are a Mickey Mouse club. Utter rubbish Have you seen Fleetwood's accounts? Likely they've blown our offer out of the water, on an average League 1 midfielder. Hope they go down, small club racking up stupid losses and still being s**t

The article seems to suggest him and Bennett agreed new terms.

Who cares really. He's bang average. I was happy when he 'apparently' signed a new deal as it suggested a degree of ambition as he was being courted by other clubs. I'm also equally as happy if he does leave because he's vastly overrated and at times a complete liability.
