You'd have thought, after Hillsborough, that some people on here would have the good sense, if not the common decency, not to pontificate about what happened at an event at which they weren't present - and not to accept as gospel the authorities' version of events in the face of widespread and strongly contradictory alternative versions. But here we are ..... Quelle surprise. <sigh> You'd have thought so wouldn't you Venceremos? But that doesn't seem to be the way this board works any more. For some. All it does is promote the kind of insidious vitriol that has become a trademark of what was once a great source of information, debate and exchange of views. No doubt the main perpetrator will be along shortly to play the victim again. And so it'll go on... I did post last night asking other moderators to have a word, but the post got deleted. Of course it did. All a bit of a shame really.

After all, it wasn't made up, it was what the authorities would have us believe. (Moral: Never believe those in authority trying to cover their back).

Maybe, but it takes all sorts and we know where we stand with most posters on here. All the mods do a good job, is it too much to ask that some posts are taken in the way we know they will be presented?

None of us were in Paris yesterday so pointing the finger of blame without knowing the full picture is therefore very premature and unhelpful in the circumstances.
There are a lot of unanswered questions at the moment as to how events unfolded as they did.
Hopefully the authorities will fully investigate ASAP.

I moved your weird thread last night, I moved it to the mods room for discussion ( that's what you asked for ), I messaged you to ask what it was about ( you have not replied ), I recently posted in the mod room having looked at your history and announced it was just you crying in your beer and upset that you lost, the way this board works is people can give but they can't take, as soon as they take they get personal didn't you start a thread about Phil jagielka just after he played in a Sheffield united side that beat Man U ? just stop crying

🥺🥺🥺 Another thread descends into a slanging match. Is there any way I can view this forum but without seeing posts from certain members? It would work a lot better for me, and I guess several more. how about I just delete the board ? I'm fed up of the bad losers on here who wreck threads every time Liverpool lose let me know as I couldn't give a s**t

I often whether other club forums are as fractious as ours. I don’t tend to look so I naively assume not. Never ceases to amaze me how fans of the same club tend to have so little tolerance for each other!!

I was at the Champ league final in 2006 in Paris between Arsenal & Barca no trouble anywhere before during and after and there were lots of fans with no tickets. You do not want to get on the wrong side of the French riot Police AKA Les Robot Cops. Bloody scary.

I'm fed up of the bad losers on here who wreck threads every time Liverpool lose let me know as I couldn't give a s**t That’s simply not what happened though. The thread was absolutely fine until about 10am this morning, banter about the game and result, don’t get me wrong, repetitive, boring banter that didn’t get any bites or reactions from anyone, but it was fair craic and banter. However when unsubstantiated mud starts getting slung generalising a group of people, folk have a right to reply with their opinion/view/input. That’s how a message board works. I think some of the posts on here today have broken Rule 11 under the “bigoted and hateful” banner. Just my opinion. People can make their own minds up

The thread has today evolved into discussing the scenes before and after the game, and the vast majority of posters seem to have understood that. So re-writing it as sore losers might fit your narrative but it’s not really true.

It would take hours, which would understandably raise tensions and invite further problems, possibly legal actions for unlawful detention, possibly violence. It would also be hugely expensive because that's a lot of staff to be paid. Besides all that, what if fans had counterfeit tickets they hadn't known to be counterfeit? And even if they did know, how could that be proved? If they have any sort of ticket on the way out then that's ok. Counterfeit tickets should have been spotted on the way in! Why should it take any longer to check people out then it did to check people in? Didn't the gates open 2.5 hours before the (delayed) kick off? Who's going to be happy waiting a couple of hours to get out of the ground?

I think David de gea deserves a big mention for a huge assist in last nights win, but for a faulty fax machine he would have been playing for Madrid last night, instead they were stuck with Tibo Courtois
note to self
Pilch ffs stop joking about Liverpool, you'll become a hate figure ;-)

That was police mishandling of Liverpool fans, perhaps because of reputation, perhaps because they have a few scallies. Police mishandling of this could have easily pushed things the same way.

About time we accepted that the so-called 'best league in the world' is not the gold standard people think it is.
I've never known the British press to show so much bias - and I lived through United's success in the 90s.
I hope there's a job lot of humble pie being ordered in in time for the jubilee.
Michael Owen talked about Liverpool "getting a couple of goals and seeing the game out" and every pundit writing off the thirteen (now fourteen) times European Champions who had beaten every other major club on the way to the final. Liverpool beat Benfica and erm Villareal.
Before the game most bookies were offering odds upwards of 3-1 for a Real Madrid win. Really?! Do you think bookies in Spain, Italy or elsewhere in the world were being quite so generous?
The same sort of delusions of grandeur that accompany England to any major tournament.
Outside of England, does anyone really think "Trent" is a world-beater? And Van Dijk, another one of the alleged best in the world. Do people actually see beyond the end of their nose?
I think Klopp's in the wrong sport. Does he honestly think their one-dimensional style of play, looking for the killer ball every time and aimlessly shooting from every angle even when there's no shot on deserves to win you a game when you have 24 chances and can't convert one? There's no judges' scorecard. You don't get anything for a shot on target!
They might steam roll Wolves and the other bang average sides that make up the majority of the Premier League but I felt their luck was always going to run out this weekend.
I honestly don't think England winning the Euros would have brought as many people together as watching them lose on Saturday night did.
'Quadruple chasers' lol.

Felt sorry for the kids caught up in all the trouble. Look at the entertainment they would have had travelling just down the road to Wrexham for their match instead of to Paris. Kids are missing out on proper football when they support the plastic premiership clubs. I was brought up watching Belle Vue Old Boys down the bottom of Sutton Lane near the gypsy camp and slowly progressed onto the holy grail known as the Gay Meadow. Proper football all the way. No VAR, no diving, no trying to con the ref and good old fashioned arguments with away supporters. Those were the days. (Miserable old git)
