Two sad losses today.
Liotta was a fine actor. Playing Henry Hill in Goodfellas will forever be his greatest screen moment and rightly so, but I enjoyed his performance as Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams too. Can’t help thinking he didn’t have the career it looked like he was going to have.
Fletcher was a lifelong member of Depeche Mode and only 60. Always liked DM, especially in their Master & Servant, Personal Jesus & Everything Counts era. The latter song resonates today - “the grabbing hands grab all they can”.
Makes you feel older, doesn’t it?
RIP

Terrible to hear of the passing of Andy Fletcher. Depeche Mode and The Cult provided the sound track to my school years and early 20’s. I saw Depeche Mode at The Genting Arena about 5 years ago and they were still awesome 🤘🏻
My deepest condolences to Fletch’s family and friends, he was taken far too soon. RIP

Very sad to hear of the death of Ray Liotta as Goodfellas is one of my favourite movies of all time. He gave the performance of his life in it with terrific support from Joe Pesci and Lorraine Bracco. I agree that his career never really hit the heights it should have after that though he was always worth watching, usually in crime movies on either side of the law.

Absolutely gutted about Fletch. A true legend. Lost count of the number of times I have seen DM. An awesome live band who have got better and better over the years. They really are amazing live. Grew up with DM. Thanks for the great memories Fletch.

Still shocked and can't believe Fletch has gone, DM are the band that has been with me all my life, from the first single to the current album Spirit, which they once again show they write brilliant songs, Cover Me is up there. Have seen them live since 1982 when I first saw them at Birmingham Odean, all over Europe and to the last tour which was sold out once again all over the World, and topped off with a brilliant sold-out night at West Ham's ground. When Everything Counts came on that night it started to rain, and I looked up and was just taken to somewhere magical.
