Awful game. Halifax were woeful They looked like rabbits caught in headlights, slow build up, poor passing, abysmal first touch and I reckon a couple of their players can trap a ball further than I can kick it. Chesterfield were better and did enough but. I don’t see them as promotion material.

Yep, chesterfield slightly better, not a patch on grimsby though, but football is a funny old game, and we'll see what happens👍👍

tried to watch it but couldn't find a stable link so gave up
some ex big boys in the semis, becoming a tough division to get out of

Solihull are anti-football. They play every trick in the book. It’s effective, but really awful to watch. Sbarra would certainly do well higher up, though.
Two away wins so far and gone against form. Let’s hope we put a stop to this on Saturday 👍🏴

Halifax were going really well into the last few weeks of the season, shows that counts for nothing in the play offs. Hopefully Wrexham will find out come Saturday....

If we beat Grimsby, then let’s have Chesterfield please. Still not forgotten the FA Cup QF defeat at Saltergate in ‘97, plus they were scabs in 84-5.

GRIMsby vSolihull for me, then an easy decision to favour the Moors in the Final.

And Chesterfield haven't forgotten their F.A, Cup semi final defeat to Middlesborough in the same year, when a certain Mr Elleray disallowed what would have probably been the winning goal for not being over the line - which it was. Even Elleray admitted later that it was.

If you think Cotters is difficult with the media, you should have seen Paul Cook's pre-match interview with the local press.
To be fair to the journo he doesn't back down.

Agree it was a poor game and I think the ref did very well to keep a lid on most of the aggro coming mainly from the Halifax bench. It seems a bit odd seeing Paul Cook managing in the National League (even though he was returning to Chesterfield) as I thought he would have got a job in League 1 or 2 after taking on the poisoned chalice of managing Ipswich.

The Conference seems to be a natural home for failed Ipswich gaffers.

So far in the play offs it's the away teams that have come good.
I wonder if Grimsby can keep the trend going on Saturday?
Now that would be nice!
