Great news. Need to get a proper feeder club for the youth team. Plus telford seem to get a lot of midlands city based youngsters as its closer to home. Can only be a positive.
Newtown next?

Would rather have seen them go down but if it gives us first dibs on the next Daniel Udoh I'm up for it.

Seems a great idea, but wouldnt it be even better to have a partnership with a higher FL club as well (Wolves, West Brom, etc)?

If this is successful other things may follow. If we do join with a higher league club, it may well be that they call the tune rather than a ‘partnership’.

We do seem to have a developing link with Coventry though.

Talking about Telford United I remember some years back there was talk of amalgamating them with Shrewsbury Town FC to form a Shropshire United FC . A new stadium would be built midway between the two towns . It was thought the benefits would be huge, bigger crowds generating more income to catapult the “ new club” into higher leagues . Of course it was never going to happen , riots and general civil unrest would surely happen with pitched battles between the two sets of fans.
Perhaps, in this more enlightened age it’s time to resurrect this idea for the benefit of all Shropshire football fans .
A new club run by the fans themselves appointing a Chairman and Manager to run it. Wouldn’t that be something special 🤪

No, not my intention at all. It was muted at one point so I thought, as it’s season end, why not resurrect the proposal and have people comment. Personally I thought it would be a non starter , would never come about but as time moves on others may have differing views. It would be interesting to see what the general consensus is. So, if that’s fishing then I’m guilty.

That is great news that Shrewsbury Town and Afc Telford are going into partnership to set up an Academy together.
