Also speaks about Jaden Bevan at the end as if he’s accepted his contract offer.

Do we get any compensation for them? Mimimal fee's for both, will work out at around £7k for each year they were withus in the academy.

Callum Wilson looked like a decent player.
Doesn't seem the club were entirely convinced given that we specialise in developing youth players and selling them on.

Short term deals and no development football on offer.
Hardly suprising to be honest.
Good luck to both and a good chance at least one will bite us.

A short term deal generally means anything up to six months. You don’t see many players under the age of 35 accepting those contracts.
I don’t know anything about either really but good luck to both.

Not seen either of them play but going on what I have been told by someone who watched them play on a very regular basis Ben Compton was an excellent prospect but recently suffered a back injury which kept him out for a while which would have hampered his chances of getting a decent deal. Think he may come back to haunt us.

It's a bit surprising and disappointing on face value, but when was the last time we released even a young player, let alone an Academy one that's really come back to haunt us? Maybe Bradshaw or Clark if they count on the former, struggling to think of one for the latter. I guess in the interests of balance you could argue that there's no way of knowing for sure what a young player might have gone onto do with us if given continued coaching and opportunities.

Andre Gray maybe? I'm struggling to think of any others.

And given he had to drop down the leagues, and I think admitted that his attitude was all wrong when he was with us, I think that counts as one of those things rather than a huge error on our part.

One player who does come to mind is Danny Taylor. He was a young right back who actually came off the bench for us in a couple of games (I think) but got released at the end of the season and ended up at Airbus UK.

Even Sears who made a fair few appearances, dropped down to the Welsh league only 6 months after being released from town. The brutal reality is that very few youth players make it as a pro
