I agree a small percentage of the usual Knuckle Draggers will try and make something of it whilst the vast majority won’t even think about it in a couple of weeks… The media will keep him on a pedestal as a shining example of a brave young man while the majority will just get on with life. As for the last question I’d like to think he’ll just be treated like any other team member, I don’t know but would think group showers and baths are a thing if the past especially now with Covid……. I think Pughy thinks because he's gay the sight of a couple of half naked blokes will send him mad, he'll automatically fancy them all or something daft. I'd imagine his teammates couldn't give a toss and are proud of him. Completely wrong assumption. I don't see an issue with it I'm just making a suggestion that it could cause issues internally. |

I think Pughy thinks because he's gay the sight of a couple of half naked blokes will send him mad, he'll automatically fancy them all or something daft. I'd imagine his teammates couldn't give a toss and are proud of him. Completely wrong assumption. I don't see an issue with it I'm just making a suggestion that it could cause issues internally. What exactly would that issue be? That he wants to have a wash after a football match? How dare he. |

How dare he. some female didn't see an issue with changing and showering with the men under the fa charged and fined her for it what happens when a player does want to change on his own ? not exactly much to debate or put right at the moment but pughy is right that it could cause issues , maybe not today or tomorrow but somewhere down the line it will and it won't make sense then either |

Gana Gueye hails from a country where homosexuality is outlawed and follows a religion where it is taught as being a sin. Western societies have generally been welcoming of other cultures and religions to the point where any challengers of 'multi-culturalism' are shouted down as being the proverbial racist or fascist, yet it was quite clear among the several elephants in the room the biggest one was homosexuality - and the attitudes of certain people towards it. People on here, yourself included (with respect) were quick to condemn 'the knuckle-draggers' that may have had a problem with Jake Daniels coming out as gay but I doubt the people you had in mind were the swathes of people of North and West Africa who have relocated to Europe over the past half-century and who's attitudes towards gay people are at their most extreme. Also the irony is palpable. Remind me again who PSG's owners are? |

Their is also no solution that would be inclusive and fair to everyone except maybe single person changing facilities but that's not realistic so it's not worth discussing further. |

I would not wish to downplay the difficulties for young men coming out but a large part of society just accept it and carry on. The issue surely, is why is it seen as so difficult in football?
Jake Daniels is a brave young man but it would be interesting to know why players have kept quiet over the years. Is it fear of fellow players or of elements in the crowd.
I strongly suspect the latter but I do think Jake and others that follow him will be pleasantly surprised by the support shown to them by the vast majority. I certainly hope so.
