Just one win away from returning to the National Conference. A hard working 1-0 win at Brackley today with LJL scoring his 6th goal before going off injured. He has probably found his level now, but he has certainly helped turn their fortunes around. Wednesday nights 2-1 win over Chorley was watched by 6400 and it was a great atmosphere in the new stadium. Awaiting the winner of Fylde v Boston. I am hoping Boston win, which would give York the home tie

6,400 at that level is amazing. Like to see York back, would probably give Wrexham another team to worry about in next seasons quest for the play offs π
Proper football at this level, far more interest in games like this than the stuff going on at Wembley with the usual crew of about 6 teams playing each other every season.

York is an amazing place, in an amazing county. They are punching below their weight and I wish them greater success in the near future. York v Town in the FA cup next year would be great.

We are having a few days in York next month but I may give that pub a miss, if that is how long it takes to get served.

My daughter lives in York. Lots of great pubs. Can be difficult to get into Golden Fleece. I really like the Royal Oak and Black Swan.
Black Swan always has Old Peculiar which is great and perfect for York new ground as bus stop right outside which goes straight to the ground

Going into February, York City were 15th in the table π¬
Since then John Askey's side picked up 39 points, reached the FA Trophy semi-finals and are now one game away from returning to the National League. π
Good luck to them today.

Last time I was at the old ground at Bootham Crescent, I was issued with a pass in order to get from the Centre Stand to the toilets, which were outside the ground in the Supporters Club!
They've come a long way from that and surely deserve to return to the National League prior to making a bid for Football League status.

I've heard many stories from the home fans suggesting their bogs were about as 'palatial' as ours on the corner of the riverside (except they never got covered over).

I live in York at the moment, and was thinking of going to this one.
But it sounds as though the police and club are determined to stop the fans from enjoying themselves. Front few rows of all the stands are cordoned off, and anybody who celebrates on the pitch will be arrested according to the club. There will also be sniffer dogs walking round the fanzones before the match...
Shameful stuff. Stop treating supporters like criminals.

I was at the Chorley game and sadly the youngsters in the South stand (which is their singing section) created this problem. There were several pitch incursions and unfortunately the stewarding was not up to scratch to avoid this. Overall it was very a very enjoyable evening, just tainted a little by the minority. I would say go if able, I don't think it will be as bad as it sounds.

If York get promoted, will they go full time?
Or are they full time already?

Lots of nice pubs and eateries; a wonderful city, in some ways similar to Chester, but infinitely better, and has the NRM as well! Enjoy!

Good luck to John Askey and his York side. I wish him well after Hurst had run off with the family silver just as he took the Town job. That said, I believe the Conference is probably his level.
