Not sure I have missed this on the board but surprised no one has discussed.
Its been a bad week for Mrs Vardy so far, conceding a few own goals.

think of all the money they have wasted the only people who get rich are the lawyers, whilst they may have money to burn it is a pity comon sense did not prevail and they donated the money spent on all the legal manovers and court time to some worthy charity. they have both put all there dirty laundry in the public domain, whilst somone may win the case they will both pay a price and i dont mean the finances .

I have to admit that these people are just so wrong on many levels, but not being normally remotely interested in wags, reality etc, I have found it interesting how manipulating they are of the presss and general public. Mrs Vardy is undoubtedly a prolific liar of the highest order and a cheap one at that. But that bit about Peter Andre was just the icing on the cake of what an awful person she is, and Mr Andre has rightly stated that he would never be allowed to discuss her anatomy in public without serious repercussions. I doubt Mrs Rooney will fair better and agree they should send any relevant damages payments to charity.

The fact that no-one had commented is likely due to the fact that no-one is interested.

Heard about it on the radio, found this bit funny.
As proceedings got underway earlier today, the court was reminded that Mrs Vardy’s agent Caroline Watt said during an earlier preliminary hearing that her phone had fallen into the North Sea.
Mr Sherborne, barrister for Mrs Rooney, remarked: ‘We know that Miss Watt’s phone is now in Davy Jones’ Locker, don’t we, Mrs Vardy?’
Mrs Vardy appeared confused and replied: ‘I’m sorry, I don’t know who Davy Jones is.’
The courtroom burst into laughter as the judge explained to Mrs Vardy that it was an idiom referring to the resting place of sailors who drowned at the bottom of the sea.

Judging by what I've seen in the media there was no need for this to go to court.Publicity seekers making rich lawyers richer. Glad I'm not married to anyone like them. Probably Mrs Rooney to win 2-1, but I would love the judge to declare a draw and give 'em both a red card.

As a rule, if a subject doesn't interest me, I stay silent on it. But this one's different!
I have so little interest in it that I haven't a clue what it's about and no desire to find out. It seems ridiculous that they couldn't sort this outside court and pay some money to charity or something. The spectacle of two wealthy women wasting their money on some nonsense at a time when our criminal justice system is logjammed sticks in my craw. I know this is a civil case but they're still taking up court time and resources.
Anyway, the worst thing is in the title. Who the f*** came up with "Wagatha Christie" and why weren't they immediately shipped off to a penal colony? And while they're at it, take with them whoever came up with "Cazoo yeah you can" (WTF does that even mean?) and "housebarrassment" (ditto). Severe punishment is called for. And then more punishment.

I've been quite entertained by the whole charade to be honest.
A bit of light entertainment in a progressively dull and depressing world.
Not everything has to be compared to the suffering of people in Ukraine or third world poverty.

Wrongly we’ve all got used to the Suffering in Ukraine with no post for 4 days despite serious news stories like Finnland and Sweden joining NATO amid Putin threats if they do….. But do we need rolling news and hourly updates about a conflict that could potentially last years? I'm pretty sure many of us were sick to death hearing daily Coronavirus death toll figures several months into the pandemic. A bit of light-heartedness in the world, at the expense of those who have delusions of grandeur isn't a bad thing surely.

Whilst I know what you are saying and plenty of others are saying the same, people could say it's ridiculous that we are spending time arguing over a game of fotoball when millions of people are suffering from a war in Ukraine. Life goes on and things don't stop because of something happening elsewhere (rightly or wrongly) I find the whole thing funny, mainly because it shows how idiotic these people are, those twitter feeds are comedy gold. But at the same time I find it worrying because there is now a generation of people who think being a WAG or becoming a celebrity (regardless of how) is something to aspire to.

These two have p**sed away £3 million on legal fees only to have both their characters and others trashed in open court.

The issue is that Vardy has always denied being the leaker, claiming Rooney defamed her with a false allegation. Under English libel law, it is up to Rooney to justify her original accusation. And, amid the accidental loss of potentially key evidence by Vardy and her team, Rooney has yet to locate a smoking gun.
Take the phone at the bottom of the North Sea, which belonged to Vardy’s agent Caroline Watt. Last summer, with legal proceedings in full swing, Rooney’s lawyers asked to search the device for WhatsApp messages that could help their case. The high court heard that shortly afterwards – and before the phone could be searched – Watt was on a boat trip off the British coast when it hit a large wave and she accidentally dropped her mobile phone into the sea, losing its contents. The incident was described as “most unfortunate” by Rooney’s lawyers.
A separate set of potentially relevant WhatsApp messages held by Vardy was backed up by her IT expert but the court heard that they had unfortunately “forgotten the password”. The laptop Vardy used during the relevant period is no longer working. Watt’s Twitter account has also been deleted. Jamie Vardy himself lost access to his WhatsApp messages, with the court informed they had been hacked.
The Guardian.
A series of most unfortunate coincidences. And throw in the fact that a consultant forensic psychiatrist produced a report which concluded Watt is not fit to provide oral evidence.

Rooney’s barrister, David Sherborne argued in written statements: ‘The defendant has serious concerns about the lack of any opportunity to cross-examine Ms Watt on her statement given the real concerns about its truthfulness and reliability and the central importance of her role in the allegations complained of.’
He added: ‘Ms Watt is now saying that she is too ill to attend court to be cross-examined on the events and allegations concerning her, although she was and is able to provide a lengthy witness statement about them, provided she is not questioned about it.
‘The defendant’s position is that Ms Watt’s concern about giving evidence is because of the realisation that her evidence is untrue and therefore she is scared of being tested upon it.’
Sherbourne had previously asked for permission to bring an ‘additional claim’ against Watt for misuse of private information and wanted it to be heard alongside the libel case, arguing that if Vardy wins her claim on the basis that she was not the person who leaked the information, Rooney would be left without ‘vindication’ otherwise.
In February the application to add the claim was refused by the judge, Mrs Justice Steyn, who ruled it was brought too late and could delay the trial.
The ruling did not however prevent Rooney from pursuing a separate claim against Watt for alleged misuse of private information if she chooses to.
Metro.
So another potential legal case against Watt in the future!

So another potential legal case against Watt in the future! I think the key factor in this trial is that it is a civil case and as such the judge has to decide 'on the balance of probability' as opposed to 'beyond reasonable doubt' which would be the case in a criminal trial. Based on Vardys evidence and cross examination so far I think we can safely say she is toast M'lord

In a defamation case it is up to the defendant to prove that everything she's said is true, so the burden of proof is on Mrs Rooney. If Vardy can shift the blame on to her agent Caroline Watt then Coleen has problems.

Rather than working things out over a glass of Lambrini, the pair did what women with improbable foreheads and outsized lips tend to do when they have got too much time and money on their hands. They consulted their lawyers.
Two and a half years on and we should be thanking those selfless, paid-by-the hour briefs for bringing us the ultimate test case for the Instagram generation.
It may not be as seminal as Donoghue vs Stevenson or even Carlill vs the Carbolic Smoke Ball Co but the late, great Lord Denning would be hard pressed to disagree that Vardy vs Rooney sets a new precedent for crimes against humanity.
Charles Darwin himself would struggle to explain how it came to this; that we evolved from apes to become a society fixated by the idea that Peter Andre’s genitalia might, in fact, resemble a chipolata sausage.
We have entered the age of oversharing, when everyone has to let everyone else know if – and when – they have been wronged or offended, rather than doing the more sensible and less self-indulgent thing of simply sucking it up.
You do not protect your image – or indeed preserve your privacy – by having the intimate details of your life paraded around in open court.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10839655/Rebekah-Vardy-claims-Wagatha-Christie-row-Coleen-Rooney-cost-lucrative-brand-deals.htmlColeen Rooney cost me my career, says Rebekah Vardy. And what career was that Rebekah? Rebekah Vardy has claimed that the Wagatha Christie row has cost her a book deal - and an endorsement for placenta capsules. Vardy, who is suing Coleen Rooney for libel, says that she lost lucrative work as a result of the claim that she was leaking personal stories about Rooney to the press. In a witness statement, Vardy said the impact of the claims, which she denies, lost her a 'potential book deal that was turned down'. She also said that she has a midwife company ready to make placenta pills for her after the birth of her fifth child Olivia but they pulled out because of the allegations made by Rooney. And we are supposed to be sympathetic? Shameless gold digger.

Well, once again, I'm grateful for Northwestman doing the research. Saved me having to bother.
So it's the Rooney's suing a women called Vardy then? Wayne's making a decent fist of being a football manager, Colleen likes holidays so much she had to go on one before the trial finished and the Vardy lady and her agent might both be barmy?
Don't they know there's a war on? Probably not.
