Like I said before, I can't see cotterill not having a bloody good go at it, before his contract runs out end of next season👍👍😁

Good signing if it comes off. New centre back next please. Then a LWB and we've nearly got a decent XI. Add to that another CB, RWB cover, a new ST and a decent couple of loans and we're not far off. Makes a change from the huge squad overhauls, likely saving us plenty of ££. We need at least 2 centre backs. 1 to play and 1 as back up, having leheay as a backup centre half should not be considered, we lose out big time in midfield if he doesn’t play there

We have 4 players who can play CB at the moment: Pennington Flanagan Nurse Leahy Plus one more to come. I don’t mind if Leahy plays as a centre back if an absolute must on the basis that we’re going for quality over quantity. I still see what quality he brings there but obviously we’ll lose it in midfield. I’d rather put funds towards a striker who could potentially take Bowman’s place in the team and another midfield option after hopefully we announce Shipley. I’d be happy with a midfield of Vela, Leahy and Shipley but we’ll still need more bodies in there too. Either Fornah back on loan or Jorge Grant would be dream stuff.

Add in surely recruiting another right back or right wing back who may be able to cover there too. Basically I would say we need 3 players in to play across the backline and wing back positions.

Would expect a newly promoted L1 side or one with serious aspirations for it next season. Was Cardiff's top scorer this season too! That bumps up wage demands

I think he just needs to be patient. He’s not far away from the 1st team and didn’t they get thumped at weekend? They did indeed. Swansea aren't playing for anything now and he still isn't playing so wouldn't be surprised so see him head out on loan next season. Whether it will be here I would say it's unlikely though Didn't even make the squad for their last game. Would expect we may see him next season albeit probably not for town

Spine of the team needs strengthening with some sprinkling of creative nous that someone like Shipley can give. In SC we trust to get it right this time

In terms of football development he really needed the rest of this season and probably next, with us to allow him to improve, just like SC said.

I'd like some Juan who can cross a ball into the box. Junior Brown could do that. We seriously missed him when he got injured.

In terms of football development he really needed the rest of this season and probably next, with us to allow him to improve, just like SC said. Can't blame him for giving it a go in a higher division really. But wouldn't be my choice as a player to be rushed through on deadline day, and worry that I was a panic signing with no clear route into the first team. 6 months later he's played for 53 mins since January, and in the last 2 months has either never left the bench or been excluded from the squad despite multiple games being dead rubbers and other youth team players picked ahead of him. It's certainly not gone as planned. But from the club's perspective, they still made money on him, and whilst we don't know the internal dealings, i would expect more than they would have been due from compensation that would have been decided, when he would have inevitably moved on in the summer. But now for him, I expect he will start next season at the third new club in 18 months, with a bit of a point to prove. We all know there is ability there, but he absolutely needs game time

Seeing is believing, I hope we are not jumping the gun on this one. Seems like a long time between ‘closing in’ and signing up. Assume a few players are on holiday but even so…!

Jorge Grant at Peterborough I'd be keen on as a number 10. 17 goals for Lincoln the year before last in League One.

I wonder if this is the summer we will finally sign Luke Beckett. Chameleon says yes, but I’m in two minds.

Two names I’ve been told: Greg Leigh (released by Morecambe) and Macaulay Langstaff (Gateshead) Leigh definitely makes sense. Langstaff would be quite a punt. Even more so than Udoh was. He's 25 and highest level he's played at is 5 games at national League level (no goals). This appears to be the first season he's been prolific at the level below that after several seasons. And judging by his 2 goals at the end of the season, I think the defences in league one will be a tad tougher than Hereford were in that game. Still, he will be cheap and who doesn't love a non league punt.

I'm not saying that Langstaff is not worth looking at but I sometimes think we need to give our own an opportunity to prove themselves too.
