Hopefully the longer range rocket systems will even up the battle.

Perhaps..... However, whilst all this goes on, there are millions of tons of grain to feed the world awaiting export from Ukraine, and it is really about time that the seemingly helpless and arguably toothless, gutless and useless UN got off its collective arse and did something positive; I can fully understand the Security Council's state of constant paralysis, but from the so-called skilled diplomats within the General Assembly, I have seen or heard precious little. Is this how it (civilisation) ends - when any nuclear-armed country can trample all over the high ideals and Constitution of the UN, as has a member of the Security Council? ? I am near to despair.

Just bumping this thread up a bit because those ****ing sick Russian barstewards are busy killing kids and innocent people - many with Russian connections, in Ukraine. Something to bear in mind for those selecting our new PM. We need someone who can allocate the resources to enable Uckraine to "win", support all the initiatives throughout the world, but not drag us into conflict with Russia.

Agreed. Sadly, one of the schools I work in, a young 8 year old Ukrainian girl was walking across the play ground at lunch time and an air ambulance flew past pretty low. She jumped to the ground screaming and crying in absolute terror of this helicopter.
Devastating to imagine what she's witnessed at that age to be so terrified.

Hopefully the longer range rocket systems will even up the battle. they would if they had sent enough of them the uk and USA have sent a total of 9 of them, Britain is training ukraines in a very compressed training programe of very basic infantry tactics and have been giving ukraning soldiers from there artillary units a months training in the use of uk artillerry, France has also sent some artillary Germany has only sent a fraction of the artillary they promised and are saying about sending more later in the year. Ukraine needs artillary and they need it now in much larger quantaties.

The ukraine wheat exports is 11% of the worls wheat exports it feeds 44 million, the price of wheat has gone up which has an impact on the food chain prices but africa is worst hit and this may trigger large numbers of migration to avoid famines. whilst Russia is exporting the stolen wheat when you are facing a famine countrys are not going to moralise were they get the wheat from www.forbes.com/sites/dereksaul/2022/06/07/what-we-know-about-where-russias-stolen-grain-is-going/?sh=33689ba656ce

Questions: Do you think it's important that Putin does not gain from his war? Do you think that supplying arms and money to Uckraine helps stop the West being sucked into a 3rd World War, with nuclear potential? Do you think that, after all these months of separation while her husband deals with the situation, his wife deserves, perhaps, a little bit of pampering, being treated like it should be and able to talk about her feelings? Do you agree with me that this Republican must be off her trolley?

Happy 70th Birthday Mr Putin! “Here's to many more years!”
May your Iranian drone source be cut off.
May your birthday bring you none of the things you want and instead bring you the gift of common sense and friendliness - before it's too late.

Old President Biden commented this morning that the chance of Nuclear war is at its highest since the 1962 Cuban Missile crisis. Of course it's not a serious enough subject to reach the attention of most it seems.

A report saying we will have enough energy to go through winter but theres' a small chance we won't being more important. Putin is not crazy enough to use a nuclear bomb though is he? Same as he would not be crazy enough to launch a war against Ukraine to start with.

Look on the bright side, if Putin does what we know he's capable of we won't need to worry about energy shortages this winter.
We have to hope that those who have to carry out his orders want to live more than a 70 year old power crazed pride wounded animal.
One thing I haven't seen is if the so-called tactical option, which can be launched from a tank, is subject to the same rules and permissions as full nuclear - because even use of a "tactical" nuclear weapon would surely trigger Armageddon.

"The secretary of Ukraine’s National security and defense council, Oleksiy Danilov, posted a video in his Twitter with Kerch bridge on fire on the left side and video with Marilyn Monroe singing her famous “Happy Birthday Mr President” on the right side". Nice gesture
"According to Russia’s National Anti-Terrorist Committee, first a lorry was blown up. Then seven fuel cisterns of a freight train caught fire on the parallel rail bridge".
First question for Vlad to ask: What dumbass thought putting a strategic road bridge right next to a strategic rail bridge to a disputed territory was a good idea?

I discovered this film today. Wish I hadn't. One or two short excerpts are on You Tube. It's about nuclear war between Russia and NATO. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Threads_(1984_film)As of August 2022, the film is available to watch on Britbox, having previously being pulled due to the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Threads is regarded as one of the most terrifying films ever made.

Did someone go too far with damaging Putin's pet bridge? It's unleashed a mighty response, I just hope that the strategic gains it might give Ukraine are worth it. Dare I say, fingers crossed, we have learnt that, maybe after a rethink, he was bluffing about what might happen if what he considers Russian territory was attacked. Hopefully those idiot zealots on Russina TV will be ignored. Hopefully Russian television and media is losing a little credibility with the Russian public.
When's Liz Truss going to pay Ukraine a visit?

Don’t understand his logic (if there is any) of Putin launching rockets into his newly annexed territories. If he considers them now Russian why does he attack his own people and territory?
