I think he'll move on to Italy. I believe they play a defensive system called 'catenaccio'.

West Ham reaction:
“West Ham United aware of RSPCA statement in relation to investigation involving Kurt Zouma. Kurt continues to co-operate fully, supported by Club. Our understanding Kurt’s cats been checked by a vet, are in good health and have suffered no physical injuries. For legal reasons, neither Kurt or the Club will be making any further comment at this time.”

I'm not so sure, if he gets off with this and had it been weeks ago, West Ham might be looking for extortionate compensation claiming it effected their results and all the usual crap. hit him now the day he is supposed to go on holiday , a lot less hassle for those on the right side of the law is what matters the most

I hope I'm wrong but I've got a feeling this whole thing has and will continue to be stage-managed to protect the player and minimise inconvenience to his employer.
I wouldn't be surprised if a plea bargain has already been agreed.
I expect he'll receive a pretty hefty fine, as well as the token yet unenforceable ban for keeping pets for a number of years. But most importantly for the club and the 'brand image', the timing of it means it will have had no impact on his availability to play for West Ham and they'll probably deem no further disciplinary action is required so he's ready for the start of next season.
I noticed Benjamin Mendy was also in court yesterday entering a not guilty plea to sex allegations made against him.
Call me a sceptic but I wonder in what other profession you'd be able to delay impending court proceedings against you until a time more convenient for you and your employer.

Indeed. Prosecutor Hazel Stevens told the court he could be heard saying: "I swear I'll kill it, I swear I'll kill it." All this over a damaged chair according to this BBC article, I’m sure he could afford a new one! www.bbc.com/sport/football/61563971.amp

Actually embarrassing. Willing to attack a defenceless animal but unable to defend themselves against a few cameras

Mendy hasn't played or trained with Man City since being charged and has already spent time in custody. Two totally different cases IMHO.

The main thing is that he and his smart alec ilk realise that when it comes to animal cruelty the law doesn't pussyfoot around. He certainly deserves all the catty remarks coming his way.
Community service? Maybe mucking out the tigers at the nearest zoo?

this was an opportunity for the judge to send out a message to all the people who think beating and sustained crulety to animals is ok. for me this is a pathetic sentance ,he could be in prison from 6 months to 5 years what is the point of bringing in tougher sentances if the judge does not use it .

I think its a fair punishment, I would hate to do 1 hour of community service, especially with the media watching, no one can follow him and watch him in prison, its not bad considering the RSPCA originally were going to do nothing

Think a custodial sentence for this would be over the top. For me it's about right.
