For such a small man he's obviously got a very big mouth.
Sacked at Sunderland.

Imagine McCann is nailed on for the job. But knowing them it could be him or Sherwood, Pardew, Evans.

if ever you needed proof changing your manager is NOT always the answer, Sunderland are it

Imagine McCann is nailed on for the job. But knowing them it could be him or Sherwood, Pardew, Evans. Can't see it being McCann. First appointment under the wealthy, new(ish) owner, they'll surely be going for a current 'name' manager or a bit of a glamorous foreigner.

Well if they want a ‘big’ manager then Evans is the man!

Well if they want a ‘big’ manager then Evans is the man! Can you imagine all the whinging the Sunderland fans would do if they went for such a high profile manager as Steve Evans 🤣🤣🤣 They think they deserve MUCH better than that. Would be a marriage made in heaven for other teams fans looking on though for a few weeks.

Always had Lee Johnson down as a smug little bloke.
As for Sunderland...where do you start.
A long term basket case of a club.

On paper, it seems madness, ok they had a heavy defeat but they are 3rd in the league and only 2 points off top spot. However, they are bottom half in the form league and have played four more than Wigan and two more than Rotherham so they could potentially be left behind in the auto's so the chairman has obviously decided to make a decision.
Of course time will tell whether it's right, but I've long learnt that when you aren't close enough to a football club, you don't know the full going's on to make a proper judgement (I always remember some non Shrewsbury fans thought our decision to sack Simpson was harsh!)

One of the most loathsome fanbases in the country.
You only have to look on twitter to see the "we shouldn't be losing to _____" posts ad finitum.
This is their fourth year at this level.
I'd understand them having a bit of a complex if they were somehow wronged along the way like when we've seen much bigger clubs than them relegated to this level on the basis of points deductions. Leeds etc.
But this is their level now. And I hope they remain at this level for a very long time.

Their fans in the main are the pits , moaning when they lose and even coming out with the “ why’s it always us “ rubbish. Im sure one of their pathetic fans posted a video of himself having a near breakdown because Sunderland weren’t winning , or I should say losing to smaller inconsequential clubs like er …. Shrewsbury . Like you I hope they remain at their present level for a very long time , another relegation would be nice 😉.

You have to laugh - took over 5,000 to Bolton to see that shambles.

Used to detest the club, now I just laugh uncontrollably at them at every opportunity.
They're playing at their true level, they've been here the best part of half a decade now.

Roy Keane has turned down the job to be Sunderland manager
[@skysportsnews]
Grant McCann and Alex Neil are now the front runners.

There's a trend to get your old manager in - don't think Sunderland will be ringing Parky though....

Just before we play them on Good Friday. They’ll then get a bumper 40,000 crowd.

I make that 12 managers (+7 caretakers) in the last decade.
Cotterill (and Ricketts and Hurst) has lasted longer at town than any of them.
Wouldn't be surprised if Neil doesn't last the season out if they don't go up say what you want about Roland, but I bet the manager payout costs are an absolute fraction of Sunderland's!
