Everton? Massive underachievers. Could easily become one of the five biggest clubs in England again if it all clicked there.

Proper family club .who handed out our belated tickets from their ticket office when we played the Bin Dippers first time round. Great history , patient fans and match day experience that feels a step back in time. Ok the new ground 3 years away and dire football right now but still a huge club.

Everton, Arsenel, cannot envisage the top flight without them.
Everton's main purpose is to occasionally beat Liverpool and gain Merseyside bragging rights. The toffees have gone a bit soft at the moment, but, if they ever beat Liverpool it's sweet.

Been trying to think of a contribution but on reflection I couldn’t give a damn but wonder why the OP has such a dislike for a club that doesn’t tend to make the headlines for any reason?

Not quite sure why folks would want to see Everton flounder. Not a club that many outside Merseyside would wish to see struggle.
There isnt too many Merseyside Premier league clubs you can say that about, especially in recent seasons.....

Are Everton the ultimate underachievers? So many years in the top flight with little to show for it. Few real highs or lows.

They may have underachieved but I still can’t see why anyone would want them relegated. They haven’t been so they haven’t underachieved so much.
The same could be said of many teams in many leagues in many countries.

Are Everton the ultimate underachievers? So many years in the top flight with little to show for it. Few real highs or lows. Only if you're one of those people who think that football started in 1992 Total top flight championship wins: 1st Man Utd - 20 2nd Liverpool - 19 3rd Arsenal 13 4th Everton 9 5th= Man City / Villa 7 Many have said the championship winning side of 84-85 is widely regarded as one of the best ever to watch. Also the experiences I can recall with Everton have been pretty positive. They were happy to provide ticket collection for the Anfield match in 2020, and I remember David Moyes being very gracious in defeat in 2003, saying something along the lines that Shrewsbury deserved to win and he would go away and see what lessons he needed to learn. No ill feeling towards them from me at all, if anything quite the reverse.

Everton have stagnated these last few seasons whilst other clubs like Leicester and West Ham have got more competitive with the bigger clubs fighting for the top 4. The new stadium and a new era could see them start to achieve a bit more and qualify for European football.

Can't say I have anything against Everton. Have a good friend who is an Evertonian though so I guess that makes a difference. But a good few years back I went over with him to Nuremberg to see Everton play in the Europa League and it was a good day out, thought there were a decent bunch of fans and took it well and had some good banter when I said I was a Town fan (as we had beat them in the Cup just a few years before). They haven't had an awful lot of success that's for sure and one of the things they really take pride in (perhaps because they haven't had that much to shout about) is the time they have spent in the top flight. That the impression I get anyhow. And it'll be a real kick in the pips if they were to lose that as well... Europa League 2007 by the looks, doesn't time fly...

Much to the OPs disgust the biggest club in the north of England will be staying in the league. The Premier one, or, in a year or two, somewhere around the league clubs like Ipswich and Sunderland have ended up in? Newcastle 3-1 Everton. Everton dragged right into the relegation scrap. I'm sure the OP's thoughts were all over the place last night.

I will have a pint of whatever you're drinking IMO Everton need to go down for a season as they would bounce back as a stronger club. A bit like Man Utd did all those years ago

I'd love it if they went down - horrifically mismanaged and quite frankly a total embarrassment to be in a relegation scrap having spend hundreds of millions of pounds
Atleast when Newcastle went down twice they had the valid reason that Ashley starved any investment. Everton are a laughing stock

Burnley 3 Everton 2.
Burnley now just 1 point behind Everton. Better goal difference and their next game is against Norwich!
