A minority make us look like a little club.
I know SC tends to praise the other club when we lose, but it's the way to go. Being big enough to praise the opposition and to show respect.

Not sure I've ever felt so ashamed to be tarnished with this as Town fans - as said previously, a crying shame it's the talking point from yesterday

Do we need Neanderthals like this, dragging our club’s name through the gutter? Identify them and ban them.

Do we need Neanderthals like this, dragging our club’s name through the gutter? Identify them and ban them. They may already be banned. This didn't take place at or near the ground and it's not like a banning orders tends to stop these people pitching up in town or city x on a big game day. I really do feel for the club at times like this. Like all clubs they do what they can if some people are determined to be A*******s what can they do?

It's a crying shame that this ends up being the unwelcome talking point from yesterday. The club has issued a statement and hopefully those responsible will be identified and dealt with accordingly. Someone on this thread has already said they know who one is. I take it they’ll do the right thing and report it.

Our club will hopefully deal with it alongside the police now, hopefully this appeases the wider football world seeing as it went viral last night and tarnished our whole reputation, and hopefully those few involved crawl back under their rocks.

I don’t know what can be embarrassing about people wanting to sit in the seat provided if they wish to? Surprisingly we do have elderly fans who would be unable to stand for the whole match. Surely they are just as entitled to attend and enjoy a match as anyone else?
As for the rest of this thread. I am ashamed of such behaviour and I can only hope they are found and banned. They have definitely bought shame on our club and the rest of us as fans.

you’ll never be champions of Shropshire I mean , omg , 5 year old stuff Grief, I feel really embarrassed just reading this. Surely this cannot be true , no one could actually start singing this . Aaaaaaarh, it’s just bloody unbelievable . Mind you, I can understand the Liverpool fans singing it back at us 😉😳 It’s called irony and I thought it was quite funny…….

We’re still waiting for the pitch invaders and the ‘racists’ to be named and banned from earlier in the season. Glad we made the statement but like ‘anyone identified on the pitch will be banned’ and ‘we’re working with the police and have temporarily banned three supporters who are under investigation’….will anything happen?

I had hoped I’d also be reading the club are assisting btp in identifying those who thought it ok to urinate on a train in front of other members of the public and leave brim full cups for unsuspecting staff/kids/public to discover Let’s start clamping down on these fools

Sheila, I was sitting next to my 10 year old Granddaughter and in the early stages a group in 124 insisted on standing in front of us.This meant we couldn’t see part of the pitch. She wouldn’t have been able to see even if she stood up, whereas at six feet plus, I selfishly, would have been ok. I say selfishly because directly behind me were youngsters who would only be able to the back of my jacket. Considering other fans, young or old does not enter the heads of some attendees.

I know Mark. It really does make me cross I’m afraid. There are many reasons why people need to sit. Sadly we can’t all be young, tall and healthy. It’s why I’m glad we have safe standing - it gives people the choice.

If I'm honest I held my son in my arms for 90 minutes yesterday so he could see. Not easy on my back but I don't begrudge people standing and certainly wouldn't want to impose what would have been a minority view in that area of the ground at least. Appreciate I'm lucky enough to be able to do that and certainly would have sat down if the dynamics were reversed and most were sat at the game.
Ultimately this is why we need more standing areas at grounds to give people the choice.

Glad the club have spoken. As has been said, it is a shame as it puts a dampener on what was a great day for the club. Reading comments on our support on social media and many Liverpool fans are commending of the atmosphere coming from the away end, so a shame our support gets tarnished by a few. Just a quick comment on the ‘champions of Shropshire’ chant. Come on guys, it’s a bit of fun and I don’t think for a minute anyone singing it is doing so seriously, but tongue in cheek. And as a previous comment states, I’d rather chants like that than the one circling at the moment.

Is there CCTV in train carriages? Yes there is, don't know if all the older carriages have it though.
Even if the CCTV at the stadium and city centre can't identify the abusive chanters, they will almost certainly be dealt with for other offences at some point - once a bad apple, always a bad apple.

It's the performative ignorance of these utter losers and their sad little lives that gets me. "Look at us, we've just had our first can of beer on the train and now we are going to show the world we count by insulting dead football fans." I hope the sad little tossers crawl back under their stones. I don't want them anywhere near our club.

Everyone seemed to stand and I was quite happy to do so. Noticed a girl in front about 10 who was struggling to see so suggested she stood on the seat. Worked well👍

Agree entirely. Hopefully they will be banned from attending 'all' football games. An example needs to be made. I - and probably all STFC fans - don't want these pathetic human beings having anything to do with our club, or football in general for that matter. What a pity they can't be handed over to the families of the Liverpool supporters who had to go through the aftermath of Hillsborough.

Same problem here - would have preferred to sit given state of my arthritic knee but it appears I was in Liverpool’s new safe standing area () didn’t know when ticket was bought) and so fans stood - family of kids in front of me had no chance of seeing much of the match

Atmosphere in general wasn’t the best. We were in 127, and it was pretty loud for most of the game, but some of the song choices were odd. The Gerrard one in particular, not sure what that has to do with us. Quite a few people getting thrown out as well - no idea why. The people at the bottom of the blocks behind the goal who were sitting down were more embarrassing though. Imagine travelling up to an away game at Anfield and choosing to sit down instead of getting behind the team. Would you include the disabled children and adults who were sat in front of me, behind the goal, in that? Moronic post
