The UK will phase out imports of Russian oil in response to Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine by the end of the year. Is that quick enough? I think it's difficult to do overnight to be fair. We expected shell to was my point.

just seen the uk are set to ban oil imports from russia with speculation of another big hike in prices which makes no sense to me as we dont import very much russian oil, so why the price rise? The UK will phase out imports of Russian oil in response to Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine by the end of the year. Is that quick enough? It's a deadline. Every petrol and oil user can do their bit to make it happen sooner, (and save some money), by cutting demand.
The once cheap Tong Gulf station is now completly off the radar at 1.69 for unleaded!!

No price rises for me mate, I put £40 in same as normal. Cost me the same as I usually put in. 😀😀 But being a delivery driver i will be back to put some more in a bit sooner than normal. I had enough left for less than 100 miles so was needed.

Think most people realise that many stations are just hugely profiteering now, hopefully when this is all over they get remembered and customers dont go back to them. 🤬🤬🤬

So Newcastle Motors at Ketley are today selling diesel for 189.9 a 15p/ltr increase on yesterday's increase. They are obviously shifting so much that they are either (a) getting deliveries daily at higher rates or (b) totally ripping the customer off. Which do we think, answers on a postcard. Amazingly there were 2 cars there filling up as well. Meanwhile Asda have put theirs up overnight - 3 pence....... EDIT***** The Shell garage at Sutton Maddock is obviously lagging well behind. They selling diesel way behind their other garages. 'Only' 171.9

Does anyone know the price DA Roberts at Grindley Brook are charging? They are usually a good reference point for fair pricing. Meantime, the consumer can try and cut demand, not start a "toilet roll" rush, filling up cans, etc. Consumers hold the power of their money in their hands, it's time we screwed the garages that over charge.

I think it's pretty clear to most that garages that overcharge should be boycotted with this unprecedented ripping off that is going on currently.

Must be awful for the poor dears - having their entire phlosophy ruined by goverment's realising that our half baked rush to ditch fossil fuel exploration was doomed to make us, and even more so the EU, dependent on dubious sources.

I hope enough people are out on the streets forcibly removing them. i asm conderned about the environment as i wont my children to live a life that iv had but im also pragmatic to recognize there needs to be atransistion period the pity is that if we had started this properly in the late 90's we would be in a different places as for these protesters you get a spectrum of views and we are just nowere were we need to be and progress is far to slow ;let us hope this time the police and courts stop messing about and deal with them properly.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10598755/Nicola-Sturgeon-says-impractical-ramp-oil-gas-production-North-Sea.htmlwhilst Sturgeon is right that it will take years but we are in a transition period from fossil fuels that experts say will take 20 years so reducing our dependency on impoerts of gas and oil in a volatile world should be a priority to ensure energy security "Nicola Sturgeon says it's 'impractical' to ramp up production of oil and gas in the North Sea because of soaring prices amid Ukraine invasion Scottish First Minister was answering weekly questions from MSPs on Thursday She said existing fields in the North Sea are effectively already at full capacity She said it would take years to expand fields and affect climate change goals" "Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross said Russia's war has changed the situation and we have to accept that,' he said. 'Scotland could deal a blow to Vladimir Putin by increasing domestic oil and gas production, we could increase that production now. 'We could end the need to import foreign oil and gas and export more to reduce international reliance on Russian energy. 'It is not time to be ideological, it is time to be practical and realistic.' In response, the First Minster said she had set out 'hard, practical reasons' why Mr Ross' requests would not work to mitigate the impact of rising prices."

So the answer to 'We could end the need to import foreign oil and gas and export more to reduce international reliance on Russian energy".
is "In response, the First Minister said she had set out 'hard, practical reasons' why Mr Ross' requests would not work to mitigate the impact of rising prices."
Maybe she needs to learn how to listen effectively?
