He was superb.
I'm sure they'll still be the usual posters blaming him for him for something though.

Question is, was he this good all along or was it SC management of him that has meant a return of these kind of performances?
I still don't think he has hit the heights of last season but he was out main threat today.

I still don't think he has hit the heights of last season but he was out main threat today. He's changed his style though; less showy but more disciplined and, in my opinion, more effective. His crossing has been superb of late. SC has to take some of the credit there i think; thought he'd****ed it earlier in the season but he seems to actually have created a more focused player out of him. Just hope the club's contract and/or fee negotiation game is up to scratch at the moment.

He hasnt been given the chance to hit the heights of last season. There has obviously been a falling out with the manager. Hopefully now resolved and our prize asset will get more game time.

It was probably a mix of things that led to him being benched ( not least Leahy's good form in that position) but thank goodness he is back and looking to get back to the heights of the start of his career with us. That also leaves Leahy free to play in midfield and perhaps we can see a good partnership between him and Vela soon.

It was the first time this season where we have seen the true Ogbeta who burst onto the scene so spectacularly last season, mind you it is a low bar against Stratford so hopefully he can take more of this back into his league performances now.

Just one or two things that suggest we might be heading in the right direction of late. I suppose its what a 5-1 win can do (even though it was against a side way down the pyramid, mind) but I've a spring in my step this morning. Sure it'll come crashing down soon enough but at the minute I'm feeling a little more positive about things than I have for a while or two. And I think Ogbeta's returned to the fold is playing some part in that. Good to see him back in the starting 11 for sure...

Game time and match fitness has improved his ability to cross more accurately as well no doubt as some coaching has helped! Well done Nat!

Thought his name change today, brought the best out of him. But it won't be enough to put other clubs off the scent. Hopefully he's realised now that Shrewsbury is the place to develop his career for a little longer before a really big move....

He can usually easily beat his marker but too often turns back rather than drive on. Reminds be a bit of Sterling who used to do that until Guardiola told him he'd be subbed if he did it again.

One of the papers this morning are saying Sterling wants out of City. Perhaps they might consider a swap with Nat going back.😜

Keep Leahy in midfield and Ogbeta at left back, best of both worlds. Them 2 were the best players on the pitch.

Ogbeta will be another player that we will have let slip through the net & I can guarantee he’ll go for big money in the future. It’s insane as to how obvious his talent is but seemingly the powers that be do their best to scupper any signing of a new longer contract.

Pyke and Burgoyne on the other hand…

Don’t let’s get carried away . Ogbeta did well against a non league lower tier defender . I’m pleased for him of course but let’s see whether he can continue this form against a League 1 hairy arsed defender ready to kick lumps off him. The Town did well down that left hand side because the opposition didn’t do enough to stop Nurse coming forward and linking with Ogbeta . Not being negative just realistic . Sorry if I’ve offended some people but it is what it is .

We have no idea what Ogbeta's agent is doing or has been doing behind the scenes. Also, we would receive compensation if we offer him something eventually, owing to his age. There is no guarantee that a fee in January would be higher, bearing in mind that he has only shone intermittently in a pretty average (or worse) team in L1. If he is ripping through defences in the Premier League or Championship in a couple of years time, I'll eat humble pie, but at the moment I see a young, talented player who has the potential to be really effective in L1. I do agree about some of the three year contracts though. Pyke springs to mind.

I'm not sure id sign a new contract if I was him. One of the best players last season, to then be dumped out of the team and has essentially only found his way back in due to poor recruitment, and his manager has slagged him off to the media.
I'm sure he will have plenty of offers elsewhere. Whether he goes in Jan for an agreed fee or next summer for a tribunal fee, I highly doubt he will be here next season.

Don’t let’s get carried away . Ogbeta did well against a non league lower tier defender . True but I also thought he looked more of his usual self against Lincoln too. Granted its not a great deal of playing time to judge but he did look to be getting back to something of what we saw from him last season. And certainly better than what we saw earlier on anyhow, when he was given a bit part every now and then...

It’s frustrating to watch over and over again, that’s all. I don’t think that’s a conspiracy theory. It’s my opinion and I’m just questioning why we’re not very good at it. Ultimately I’m going to question those that deal with player recruitment and contracts.
We continually seem to hesitate, ponder or deliberate over talented players over the last 10-15 years and I think Ogbeta is clearly talented for his age. Are we trying to keep him do we think?
The board or those in power need to be better at dealing with these scenarios as our record at keeping them is less than ideal.
No conspiracy. Just a questioning our record. I understand players want to play at highest level. That’s life but are we even asking the question as to whether Ogbeta wants to stay. He seemed to love it here at the start & have we now ruined that relationship?

I think that’s probably the answer , give him more “ game time “ rather than a “ bit part now and again “. Mind you it would also mean we would need to persevere with the young lad , let him make mistakes as part of building his confidence . Sundays performance will help . I really do hope he continues to improve and impress . If he does he would be a great asset in our fight to climb up the League .
