Very much a "shock move" as reported in the local papers.
With no transfer restrictions in the Conference, the midfielder is able to join the Hatters immediately and has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Edgeley Park.
Watch out Wrexham, Stockport County mean business.

I may take a trip over to Stockport County at some point this season to see what's happening. Note that they have a director of football. I think we should have one at Shrewsbury Town. Someone who actually knows football sitting on the board.
The process for the appointment of Cotterill reminds of the some of the earlier appointments of chief executives in the twilight of the Gay meadow era. The Caldwell process has also been discredited.

We have a Head of Recruitment........ did think when he was appointed it would help us a lot at our level but the bloke never gets mentioned these days. Can see why though.

Very surprised that Stockport have got him on a free transfer. I wonder if joining Wrexham was ever a possibility . I’d like to think he was approached but turned them down on the grounds that they were a basket case destined to wallow in non league forever and obviously didn’t want to be associated with no hopers .

Very surprised that Stockport have got him on a free transfer. Come on, he has every good chance of getting back to the FL with Stockport. Got a better chance of getting into the National League North with Wrexham.

I agree - and he's keeping his head firmly down.

Shame Bolton didn't have this turmoil ongoing in the days before we played them this month! Although we probably still would have found a way to lose.

And yet Stockport still well beaten by Notts County yesterday and stuck in midtable. However well either they or Wrexham start playing, they're still 12/13 points behind the top spot now and Grimsby have already taken an easy 3 points off Wrexham.
Wrexham/Stockport play off semi anyone? Hell of a game for the neutral, that.
