www.thefa.com/news/2021/oct/21/emirates-fa-cup-first-round-tv-broadcast-games-selected-20212110The £50k TV money is very welcome, especially to a club like Stratford. Interesting that for the first two rounds that additional games are moved for highlights, oversees broadcast so if we were to win the 1st round game then equally a good chance of another TV game or highlights at 25k. Win on the 7th and the total figure we could make could eclipse 150k even if we don't progress beyond the 2nd round.

£50,000 in the pot, not on a main channel but still easily accessible and a winnable game, couldn't ask for much more. Money that desperately needs to be spent in January. Come on Roland, stop being a tightwad and invest the money back in the team, it’s money that wasn’t budgeted for!

If you assume that we are already down then every penny he spends now is simply reducing the book value of the club. I'm expecting sales and loans but hopefully he will prove me wrong.

I am loving the gallows humour on this thread but are we really seriously suggesting we can't beat a team that is four tiers below us? I know we are not very good at the moment but even our EFL trophy team should be able to beat them. I think SC will have to play the strongest team he can anyway because he will start to come under increasing pressure if we can't get through to the second round - a reasonably good Cup run can always buy a manager a bit of time.

I just had a peep on Coventry Live and some interesting info came out. The Stratford ground holds just over 1400 and 1200 + were in attendance on Tuesday, including 100 Boston fans. That was a new ground record but they expect to more than double it against us. They are talking to Warwickshire Police and their safety officers with regard to upping the limit to 2800. Quite how they intend to do it, I have no idea, but obviously they want to make a financial killing and who can blame them? The reporter said their victory would see them entertain “ mighty League One side, Shrewsbury Town, who took Liverpool to a fourth round replay, eighteen months ago”.

'Mighty'! How kind of them. Building us up like a heavyweight boxer, who then falls in the first hahaha

I take it you have seen us play away this season? I have seen all the away games and we have been in with a shout at all of them except Morecambe , where a needless penalty knocked the stuffing out of us. Missed a penalty at Bolton, whose manager said we were the best team they had played. Unlucky to lose at Ipswich and got a deserved point at Hillsborough. Robbed of a point at Pompey by a blinding last minute save from a Pierre header. Even at Oxford, we probably had the better of the first half, so I believe that we can turn things around. The return of Vela and Leahy and maybe Nurse will help the cause.

The Bolton manager also, allegedly, claimed last week that he thought they were the best team in the league, before losing 0-4 to Wigan and 3-0 to Plymouth. Similar to Ricketts last season, narrow away defeats (apart from 5-1 Posh tonking) and minimal points return.

Not at all, and the Cup tie is as winnable this season as it would have been in any other.

Oh, hang on though, they just list at home to MKD, who had just been beaten by STFC. Crazy league.

it will be intresting to see SC approaches this game, will he put out a strong team ( not sure we have that ) and what tactics will he use, if there was ever a game to give daniles and ogbetta a chance this is it both have pace to burn.
